_AxS_Rend: what fs type is it?
Rendfatx
Fieldyfatx? haven't heard of that one
jintxoxbox
_AxS_Rend: OH, umask is a mask eh? it goes the opposite way of chmod.
Rend: you're allowing any and all available permissions to be set
Rendi have two drives mounted with the same options, one has 777 permissions the other like 755
Aw0Lwhat's the little button at the bottom right hand corner of Konqueror?
Rendi want them to be rwe for all users.
Aw0Llooks like it turns into a chain?
_AxS_Rend: then you have to....do something else
tsunaHello. Which package provides the standard `arp' command (which can easily be found on Debian for instance)?
Rend_AxS_ i have tried to chmod -R 777 the mount point but nothing changes..
_AxS_, i dont know of any other way to change the permissions
jintxotsuna, sys-apps/net-tools
_AxS_Rend: there's a thing.. i cant remember what it is tho, sec. Oh, this is in fstab you made the umask?
psychis there a way to apply patchs on ebuilds before emerge ?
tsunajintxo: thanks
Rend_AxS_, yeah in fstab
jintxoyup
Griffon26psych: you wanna patch the sources or the ebuild?
Rend_AxS_, There are two fatx drives mounted with the same options one has 777 permissions the other like 755.
_AxS_can you rafb.net/paste your fstab? which of the two aren't working?
sdc-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4926952 Jul 24 2006 gcc*
anyone know what the star does next to the program's name?
psychGriffon26, im asking my friend :)
Rendi sdc any match
rayz0rwtf man. How the hell did I use 1757.1 megs of space on my hard drive? I DIDN'T INSTALL ANYTHING!
Rendsdc, star means gcc follow by anything
Griffon26psych: no, I mean, do you want to patch the ebuild or do you want to patch the sources that are going to be compiled?
psychGriffon26, im asking TO my friend
rayz0rhmm maybe a 2 gig hard drive is out of the question with gentoo.
psychsorry my bad english :)
Rend_AxS_, http://rafb.net/p/H21Nbw76.html
rayz0rbesides, a 10 year old drive probably isn't going to last in a bumpy truck.
Griffon26psych: ok, I'll just try to explain then.. hopefully this is what you need...
jintxosdc, yeah I think that means the x bit is set (executable)
grknightsdc: what happens if you do 'chmod -x gcc'
_AxS_what's this 'fatx' thing? dont you want 'vfat' ?
grknightsdc, some shells can be config'd to put a start after an executable
