marienzcaze_donfusion: flag's removed, not disabled.
Sugar_from_OTWscythetleppo: oh no! not the make.conf...give me a second, I'm going to get a coffee
marienzcaze_donfusion: ebuild was changed, now uses the bindist flag instead of the mozbranding flag, which works the other way around.
caze_donfusion: you can safely skip that remerge.
Namthx guys
scythetleppoand I'm positive that it's supposed to be VIDEO_CARDS="ati" cuz I had it up and running a few days ago
kantlivelongi hope not..
scythetleppobut startx keeps saying it can't find ati driver
marienzscythetleppo: pastebin Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf
caze_donfusionso now the only way to have mozilla branding is to get the binary? you cant compile it anymore?
scythetleppoI can't pastebin, it's on another computer and I don't know how to get the flash drive to work
ebfecaze_donfusion: use mozbranding
uberpinguinazazello: the docs _do_ cover configuring in-kernel ACPI support, installing and configuring acpid. Google can search the Gentoo forums (append site:forums.gentoo.org). Most linux-related config issues can be found through good Google queries, and the great fall-back of IRC is there, too. Seriously, the resources are available if you are willing to take the time to use/learn them. If you're not, then Gentoo will be a nightm
caze_donfusionheh
uberpinguinare on _any_ computer.
Sugar_from_OTWscythetleppo: any idea why it broke?
purplepenguinI can't get mozbranding to work
actionmarienz mutters
marienzmutters
purplepenguinI'm trying to install 2.0.0.2
marienzcaze_donfusion: you misparsed.
scythetleppoI'm reinstalling
caze_donfusionebfe: they just said they removed that use flag?
marienzcaze_donfusion: the mozbranding flag was previously used. It is now ignored. The bindist flag was previously ignored. It is now used.
purplepenguinthey removed mozbranding?
scythetleppoI formatted the hard drive and started over, and can't seem to get it back to how it was now
marienzcaze_donfusion: if you previously had the mozbranding flag *enabled* you should have the bindist flag *disabled* and vice versa to get the same effect.
purplepenguinso you can get the branding by default?
marienzcaze_donfusion: (and everyone else) net effect is you now get branding *enabled* without enabling any flags that aren't enabled by default.
purplepenguindoes bindist affect any other packages?
marienzpurplepenguin: yes.
Sugar_from_OTWscythetleppo: oh I see. So it WAS working, but you've recently formatted and reinstalled, and now its broken?
caze_donfusionmarienz: ahhh guess the bin in there made me think it would force mozille-firefox-bin or something
purplepenguinwhich ones?
marienzpurplepenguin: emerge pkgcore; pquery --has-use bindist.
nahunis there anyway to add a user with just a numeric name? like just "100"
marienzbindist is used to disable compilation of code that would produce a binary you cannot legally redistribute.
purplepenguinI don't know nahun, try it
Sugar_from_OTWscythetleppo: have you run xorgconfig yet?>
purplepenguinuseradd 100?
scythetleppoyeah, I installed gentoo, then I emerged kde and xorg and I can't get it to start...and I'm newb so I probably am missing a step..
