zlinis now waiting for his life to become easier..
neclimdu1you're using gentoo so your life is easier right? ;)
you could make my life easier by reminding me how to add modules on boot so I don't have to look and the manual in links
zlin/etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 ?
neclimdu1that's it thanks
actionneclimdu1 hands zlin a well deserved beer
neclimdu1hands zlin a well deserved beer
zlinyay beer
squarebottleGot it going. Just needed to restart screen on the server, and then the clients needed to both just do screen -x
Thanks :D
benthnx a lot..
see ya' :)
sapplingCan anyone help me in patching my kernel with http://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=9793&action=view I am kinda lost
zlingo to #gentoo-dev-help and read /topic
hmm.. actually..
MartianLobsteris LD_LIBRARY_PATH the correct variable to set to specify a library directory with dll's?
zlinSappling: fetch it to a file. cd to /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/kernel/ and patch < $file
purplepenguinsI wish I could reload my kernel without rebooting
neclimdu1what's a dll? ;)
Triffid_Hunterpurplepenguins: that's what kexec is for
neclimdu1like Triffid_Hunter said
Vash63Question, can 32 bit GRUB boot to a 64 bit Windows OS?
purplepenguinsso can you do it?
or does it have to be compiled into the kernel first
heh
Vash63I'm thinking about putting Gentoo on my desktop too and dual booting it, but it's on Vista 64. I got it dual booting with Vista 32 on my laptop without any issues.
sapplingzlin, I do not know how to fetch it to a file, would I copy and paste it into a file named quicks.c and then put it into the /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/kernel/ followed by cd'ing and then patch < $file
Triffid_HunterVash63: should be able to, but you'd have to try it
neclimdu1logic says that grub shouldn't have a problem
Sappling: no, something like "quirks.patch"
sapplingneclimdu1, alright thankyou
neclimdu1and you could just download it using your fav browser or wget
TurjakasI get an error when compiling media-gfx/graphviz-2.8-r2 (on amd64), is this a known bug?
purplepenguinskexec isn't what I'm looking for necessarily
looks cool
neclimdu1Turjakas: upi
nm
Turjakas?
zlinSappling: it gets rejected here anyway.
neclimdu1I was going to mention there is an amd64 channel if you think it might be amd64 specific
sapplingzlin, It gets rejected here anyway what do you mean by that
