|euphor][a||does anyone know any good apps for drawing network topologies?|
|Insolence||Ahh, you need to get a good router setup larry. :) Setup something like m0n0 or pfSense and turn on some QoS on your brother man.|
|larrythecow||so DrEeevil: Can I safely assume that if, by|
deleting the windows mbr and adding windows to grub, all will be well?
|Insolence||So you don't have to wait for each other. :)|
|action||Insolence pokes Boohbah|
no I go into the router config and block game sites often when I'm about to download, but dad gets angry and eventually I have to let it up.
|Insolence||AHh, blocking never works|
|larrythecow||it would work, he doesn't even know how to uninstall programs in his stupid windows :P:P|
|Insolence||Yeah, most parents are like that. :P|
larry, you laugh, but it works great, I live in a house with anywhere from 3-5 internet-dependant hardcore geeks, with a well setup QoS we can all play and/or download and not hog the internet. :)
And no one complains from blocked sites ;)
|larrythecow||just that my dad understands a bit about computers to know I've done it and makes me undo it. He can't remember out ip so he can never do it himself :P|
Insolence: may look into this.
|Insolence||Well, he won't notice anything from QoS :) I recommend it definitely|
|larrythecow||hopefully I'll increase bandwith amount soon anyway.|
so this QoS.. does it just divide bandwith? So we can only download a shared amount?
|euphor][a||The folder "TAPE0874" contains more files than Nautilus can handle.|
|larrythecow||Because if I did that I could give him less bandwith and maybe then he'd get off the games a bit. He's wasting his life :P|
|Insolence||Anyone up for a... quirk I'm having with gentoo...? ;) I can't seem to setup a freakin' cvs server on it with cvsd. Does no one use cvsd nowadays? I seem to see all the tutorials to setup a cvs server with cvsd appear to be 2 years old-ish. Should I just manually setup cvs in server mode with xinetd?|
Because, with cvsd I get erroneous and untraceable "cvs [import aborted]: could not get working directory: Function not implemented" errors
Anyone run into that?
larry: haha :) I play games a lot, I'm not wasting my life!
:) I work my butt off too
euphor: ;) not cool, hehe
No one awake eh? :) Figured it was too late (early?) :P
|Insolence||Hey julian ;)|
Good morning (or night)
|_julian||where can I set LC_ALL/LANG default values in gentoo?|
|Insolence||Hmm, that's a good question actually...|
|_julian||the old /etc/env.d/02locale does not seem to exist anymore|
hmm, ok just creating that file, seems to work
|action||Insolence adds to his wiki, good to know. :)|
