ChrisGozlin you recommend xmms and will the shortcusts also be auto in kde for that?
marienzMeowCats: for starters: do you intend to keep evolution?
MeowCatsmarienz, nope
ChrisGopretty much anything with emerge will make shortcuts if you use flags are correct if i understand how it works now
marienzMeowCats: bah, then I can't shrink the list with all evo's deps :)
w1ll14m@moreon: it's via a new install with chroot and i have write access
marienzMeowCats: emerge -vp --depclean|less, scroll through the list, emerge -n everything that is on the list and you want to keep
zlinChrisGo: xmms? certainly no I don't. I was replying about amarok. xmms isn't in the tree anymore.
mpicklesimerAnyone here experience circular deps lately?
w1ll14mrootfs / rootfs rw 0 0
ChrisGoohh
Adlailast time I saw them it was ffmpeg, directfb, and x264
ChrisGoaudacious ok?
moreonw1ll14m: do 'cat /proc/mounts' _within_ the chroot.
zlinmpicklesimer: pastebin it.
ChrisGoi dont want to wait 2 hours for all the packages lol
marienzMeowCats: the list is rather long because evo depends on spamasssassin which depends on a dozen or so perl packages, and gnome-cups-manager depends on cups and a bunch of other printing stuff, mainly.
Adlaiwhich were all things I wasn't at all convinced I needed, but sounded cool
actionChrisGo remembers the days when winamp would be installed blindfolded
ChrisGoremembers the days when winamp would be installed blindfolded
MeowCatsmarienz, thats way too many things to list, it'll take me hours to emerge -n every one of them. also, I'm not familiar with their built in names, like I said before, which is why I hoped to install the add/remove app gnome has/had (at least in ubuntu and FC)
Adlaimpicklesimer, try emerging all of them with USE="-*" and then re-emerge them with your normal use flash
sub_is there any advantage in choosing xorg-x11 7.2 (testing) instead of 7.1 (stable)? thanks
Adlais/flash/flags
wow
moreonw1ll14m: and actually that might not be the line i'm looking for. There should be another one with '/' as the 2nd word.
zlinChrisGo: even if a package has no shortcut, adding one is easy.
ChrisGoLMAO www.xmms.org has an old man waving goodbye to gentoo
w1ll14m@moreon: i did it from chroot
MeowCatsmarienz, I really dont't need printing, and def not evo, and probably not spamassassin, so I think it's ok to remove those, no?
[R]sub_: 7.2 is newer?
marienzMeowCats: the only "add remove thing" it could have that wouldn't be "emerge" would just remove the menu entry.
ChrisGozlin thats if you know where it gets installed that hard for me to trackmstuff so far
w1ll14m@moreon: http://www.pastebin.ca/367043
marienzMeowCats: remember that this list contains deps of parts of gnome, not just the main parts.
sub_[R], yes I know :) but are there any new features or stuff that would make it worth?
zlinmzbot: gentoo ChrisGo gentoolkit
mzbotChrisGo: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoolkit.xml
[R]sub_: probably not
marienzMeowCats: if it has "lib" or "plugin" in the name chances are you're not using it directly.
sub_ok, thanks
