NY Lost Funds

emergeProblemsI've never seen this before, I thought someone might know :(
impulzeemergeProblems: eh
emergeProblems: sorry... but... eh?
emergeProblemsyeah, same here
lopl;
lol*
GrueliusJackieRipper: i might have done a bit of configuring to setup Gnome but for KDE i just emerged it and set it in xinit
NightKhaosemergeProblems: I don't see a problem.
River_Ratlarrythecow: It is one of the options. I don't use etc-update so I don't know.
[R]deface: i see two possibliities... either thats not actually waht dmesg says, or what you think the config is is actually not what it is... because the *ONLY* way for messages beginning with i810_audio: to appear in dmesg, is for the i810_audio OSS driver to be compiled
NightKhaosmzbot: teach emergeProblems about use
mzbotemergeProblems: When an ebuild offers the user a choice, it usually checks the USE flags of that user to decide what to do. For instance, a package that conditionally supports the ALSA Sound Architecture, might listen to USE="alsa" to decide whether or not to compile in ALSA support. See http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml?part=2&chap=2
impulzei don't understand anything you just asid
*said
emergeProblemsMy USE flags are fine
NightKhaosemergeProblems: your use flags that you have specify affect the dependecy list.
deface[R] - got it
NightKhaosemergeProblems: so, if there is a lot of use flags, there will be a lot of dependencys.
JackieRipperGruelius: I mean lisa... check out http://docs.kde.org/stable/en/kdenetwork/lisa/introduction.html
emergeProblemsI'll check something out. Grr, i've been debugging the entire night :(
deface[R] - completely removed all sound in kernel, then re-enabled from scratch .. to be sure
NightKhaosemergeProblems: so what IS the problem?
[R]deface: is you unselect sound, and then just reselect it w/o saving and leaving menuconfig, nothing changes
emergeProblemsEmerging does nothing but print a list of dependancies.
defaceno, saved; then re-loaded menuconfig; im no n00b [R]
kwgivleremergeProblems: Does it ask you yes or no?
emergeProblemsemerge gnome = an entire page of ebuilds
NightKhaosemergeProblems: are you trying it as root or a super-user?
emergeProblemsNo, I did not nclude any extra parms
Yes
River_RatemergeProblems: emerge -avDt gnome
ChrisGodo you even need the module section in this command make && make modules_install if you made all your kernel addons built in?
kwgivleremergeProblems: Type yes then press enter
impulzeprobably you have EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS="--pretend/-p" in your make.conf?
[R]i wish a sane program existed that lets me sync my PDA
JackieRipperGruelius: here's a sample /etc/lisarc http://docs.kde.org/stable/en/kdenetwork/lisa/config-file-format.html
adeeln[R]: what PDA?
emergeProblemsSame thing. Starts gathering a dependancy list, and just gives up and .. splatters this list.
caze_donfusionemergeProbs shouldnt need to type yes if hes not using ask
impulzethat for one
