tardo[lt]i can't seem to modprobe a module
the module is clearly there
aka.. modprobe prism2_usb
actionmarienz points out baselayout-lite doesn't have any KEYWORDS set, meaning it probably doesn't really work yet
marienzpoints out baselayout-lite doesn't have any KEYWORDS set, meaning it probably doesn't really work yet
hliebermanWhat's the error?
zlinChrisGo: pastebin
silverpowernovacaine, good. Oh, and try out the conservative governor, I prefer that one over powersave, in fact.
tardo[lt]i get a fatal error saying not found
hliebermantardo[lt], Are you sure it exists for the kernel you're running?
tardo[lt]yes, find / -name prism* shows it on the filesystem
hliebermantardo[lt], find /lib/modules/`uname -r`/ -name prism*
tardo[lt], Does that return anything?
marienz`--
$()++
novacainesilverpower: which are the differents between conservative and powersave?
MeowCatsmarienz, it sort of finished, one error, I need to edit a USE keyword to add support for something, where is that file located again?
tardo[lt]yes and no
hliebermanmarienz, What's the difference? :(
marienzMeowCats: err, probably /etc/portage/package.use
tardo[lt]uname -r isn't a command in busybox :x
marienzhlieberman: $() is more readable especially when nested
hliebermantardo[lt], Gah.
tardo[lt]but it's there
hliebermanWhat do you mean it's not
marienztardo[lt]: it's *where*?
ChrisGozlin http://rafb.net/p/oM0URt90.html and http://rafb.net/p/j19J9X56.html i get resolution out of range so i cant do much other than ssh from another machine
MeowCatsmarienz, umm not that, the one that has CHOST option in it
hliebermanbusybox uname -r 2.6.19-gentoo-r5
marienzMeowCats: /etc/make.conf
tardo[lt]lib/modules//2.6.26.19/net/wireless/prism2_usb.ko
ChrisGoshould i stop xdm from auto starting?
marienztardo[lt]: the most likely cause of that error is you're not running the kernel you think you're running.
silverpowernovacaine, powersave locks it at the minimum frequency. conservative defaults to minimum but increases frequency under heavy load. It's like ondemand, except that it's less aggressive.
tardo[lt]eh
hliebermantardo[lt], uname -r is too a command in busybox.
tardo[lt]there's only one kernel running >_<
marienztardo[lt]: still, by far the most likely reason is the one kernel that's running isn't the one you think it is :)
tardo[lt]: cat /proc/version
tardo[lt]lol.. ok so... recompile kernel and reinstall...?
marienztardo[lt]: mount -t proc proc /proc if proc isn't mounted yet
