marienzMeowCats: the world file is a list of all the things you explicitly merged. Everything you want to be on your system should be in there.
moonfartahh yes portage, missed it lately
hliebermanmzbot, teach MeowCats about pastebin
mzbotMeowCats: pastebin.com is very slow, consider using rafb.net/paste or pastebin.ca instead. If you don't have a browser you can "emerge nopaste" to upload files to rafb.net/paste.
novacainezlin: or almost the frequency policy
deitarionNow that I've done my good deed, is anyone willing to recommend a simple tool for testing whether a Microphone is set up properly? With Audacity, I spend 90% of my time making sure it's listening and that it's not listening on loopback to the speakers or FM synth.
zlinnovacaine: I may have needed to choose the userspace guvernor for it to actually work. just clicked on it iirc..
marienzMeowCats: emerge -DuvpN world and similar commands update packages in world, packages in "system" (essential stuff like the compiler) and their dependencies. It ignores everything else.
MeowCats: --depclean removes the same stuff that's ignored by -DuvpN world.
MeowCats: ok, output from emerge -DuvpN world please
MeowCatsmarienz, I see
moonfartpizza time, later all thanx for the help
ruben-How do I make my windows boot as default in grub?
MeowCatsmarienz, http://pastebin.ca/366863
ChrisGowhen i do a Xorg -configure
onewheelskywardruben-: Set your default item in grub.conf
ChrisGowhen i do a Xorg -configure i get a error http://rafb.net/p/oM0URt90.html
novacainezlin: how can I set that policy? I see that i have both modules cpufreq_ondemand and _powersave....how can I tell to use _powersave?
ChrisGoanyone have any suggestions please?
onewheelskywardruben-: for example, windows is my 4th option in grub.conf, so i have a 'default 3' line in my conf file.
marienzMeowCats: ok, probably best to just run that one without the -p first.
novacainezlin: excuse me but I'm an useless man using gnome..
MeowCatsmarienz, running
triplah_wErZo: thanks
zlinnovacaine: hmm.. I don't think I could change governor. only freq. mind you I it's 9 months ago for me too..
tardo[lt]hey
what do i have to install do get depscan.sh?
coolI recompiled my kernel and now every time i type make to install software i get an error that i need to set KBUILD and i ave to type the path to the new kernl folder every time, is there a way to update KBUILD without typing it every time?
novacainezlin: ok thank you
zlinnovacaine: `cpufreq-set` from cpufrequtils can though..
silverpowernovacaine, you need cpufreq-utils.
novacainezlin: i found the app cpufrec-selector
silverpower: yes, I found, thank you
zlinshould work too.
marienztardo[lt]: baselayout
tardo[lt]baselayout-lite won't work?
marienztardo[lt]: I have no idea if baselayout-lite works at all.
ChrisGothe "/var/log/Xorg.0.log says it loads vmware why?
marienztardo[lt]: I don't think anything other than baselayout uses depscan.sh though.
tardo[lt]hmm another question
