mistik1ryan_: driver not loaded
Adlaimjm, it's all I can think of at the moment
romanosAdlai, german?
ari5avok, I'm trying to install openoffice and it's using a buttload of temporary space. without it, I only have about 1.8gb free, and it's running out of space halfway through. thoughts?
Adlairomanos, I am not, but that is the german gentoo channel
mistik1rhys: rather
rhysdo wha?
mjmAdlai: well thanks man
Adlailet me rephrase: there may be some here, but you are guaranteed to find some in #gentoo.de
the_iszit's really making me mad... emerge gtk+ stops because it doesnt find the library cups, which i don't want to install...
Adlaimjm, no problem
romanosthnx
mistik1rhys: Put the modules for your network card in /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6
mmm_ari5av: emerge openoffice-bin
rhysmistik1, do i emerge dhcpcd again? will that fix it? it mentions that netmount wasnt started
serenthe_isz: did you ser USE="-cups"
the_iszsadly, gtk doesnt have a cups use flag
tardo[lt]does gentoo still use sysvinit?
mistik1rhys: how would that fix not finding a card
rhysmistik1, pretty sure theyre loaded. the live cd loads them fine
its an rt8439 i think
mistik1rhys: How are you sure do you SEE it loaded?
the_iszadditionally, i put USE="-cups" into my /etc/make.conf before emerging anything... well, if noone knows, it seems to be a bug in the gtk+ ebuild
MeowCatsfor some reason the nvidia utility only sees one of my cars, how can I add the other card?
Adlaispeaking of dhcpcd, does anyone remember the fix for when /etc/init.d/net thought dhcpcd-3.0.11 didn't satisfy its need for >=dhcpcd-2*?
mistik1Adlai: emerge baselayout
Adlaimistik1, thanks
dzAdlai: uh, >=dhcpcd-2* isn't a valid package atom
rhysmistik1, so your sure its that the card module isnt loaded right?
Adlaidz, yeah, I recognized that after I said it, but you guys understand what I was trying to say
I hope
mistik1rhys: I am not sure of anything other than the error you showed me
rhys: do lsmod and look
rhysand also, could you mention where else network cards are set up other than /etc/conf.d/ ?
mistik1dmesg and read
rhysim back on the livecd to talk on here
mistik1rhys: then mount your hdd root and make sure #1 you enabled the module in the kernel #2 that you added it to /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6
as per the handbook
cybaneHow do you stop the booting process?
zlinthe_isz: while gtk+ doesn't have a cups use flag it also doesn't depend on cups...
