fietronicseren, But it scrolls a bunch of crap while you are doing it.
loki_valmercestes: I think you should be able to save your system by getting a binpkg from a tinderbox, booting from the boot-cd, then emerging from outside the chroot with the ROOT= /mnt/gentoo/ variable
MercestesDid my install, did my configs, copied some configs over, etc. etc. etc.
fietronicErrr.. it scrolls a bunch of crap between the times it says "this package of this package"
Mercestesdid an emerge --sync just now, said it needed new portage, so I did my emerge portage.
and it wanted to replace "bash"
so it removed bash
serenfietronic: tail -n 50 -f /var/log/emerge.log

zlinmercestes: when portage detects two versions of the same package in the same slot it autocleans the one with the lowest COUNTER. it's explained at http://dev.gentoo.org/~marienz/stage-tarball-is-not-a-rescue-tarball.txt
ttuttleOh, is *that* what the COUNTER is for?1
loki_valeverybody: from http://pastebin.ca/366778 <<< obj /bin/bash <----- WTF!???
