zlinPeterFA: why do you feel the need to flame it in this channel?
PeterFAzlin, because I'm so hot, I'm on fire!
Phenaxme too
AllenJBBecause it's Java, and no matter what you do to it, it'll always be ugly =P
serenatleast you dont have to manually download java from sun anymore
PeterFAseren, you have a point.
TheunruledAllenJB: java isn't ugly =/
PeterFAseren, they changed their license.
serenGPL baby
AllenJBMy only annoyance with Java atm is that Gentoo is STILL straddling generation 1 and 2 handling.
zlinPeterFA: being on fire sucks, huh? *g*
MarkT-allen: what do you mean?
johntramphey is there an app to see what codec a video is encoded in?
rhysim halfway through an install. as in, im to the "emerge extra packages" section. im on 15 of 202. i just emerged XFCE and um. xchat. but i know i will have to disconnect it before its finished. is this going to bother it? can i resume it?
vealfor what can inode access time be helpfull?
Theunruledrhys: you can resume any emerge
by emerge --resume
serenfromk the start of it
Theunrulediirc
serenfrom
rhysthis is an emerge being run in the chroot by the GTK installer.
zlin? java-devel
jeeveshttp://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/gentoo/xml/htdocs/proj/en/java/java-devel.xml
rhyscan i resume that one?
zlinMarkT-: ^^
loki_valrhys: you can resume any emerge. Convenient feature: FEATURES="parallel-fetch" in make.conf
Mercestesrhys: As long as you chroot back in. Don' tsuppose you did a screen -a d first eh?
Theunruledrhys: emerge extra packages is telling u to install some 200 packages?
rhys: oh was gnome part of the list?
rhysTheunruled, close. XFCE4
and mercestes this is the install cd
Theunruledrhys: u should be able to resume
Mercestesrhys: install cd has screen.
Theunruledwell u chrooted into ur environment...
Mercestesrhys: As long as you chroot back in you should be ok. you can't do it from the install CD env. you'd have to be in the chroot env.
rhysmercestes, so when i pull the internet connection, i shutdown the gtk installer, go home, bring back the internet, chroot into /mnt/gentoo where the system is, and emerge --resume? correct?
maikolhow can i uninstall xmms if there is no longer an ebuild for it
Mercestesrhys: Should work. ymmv
