imbezoland is that new?
marienzimbezol: /etc/udev/rules.d/60-persistent-net.rules iirc
imbezoli've not seen this before
serennermals: check bugs.gentoo.org and if there isnt one updated ther search gentoo sunrise
marienzimbezol: could have the filename slightly off, but it's in that dir, it has net in the filename, and a comment saying it's generated.
inzaneztimmu: you mean for the vmware? disabled swapping...
lotyrinpong
nermalsseren, thanks
marienzimbezol: I think that's new in recent-ish udev, don't know how new.
imbezolmarienz: ah, that's kind of neat.. you could rename the interfaces easily that way
mechtnhey FunnyMan3595, http://www.linux-noob.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2761
inzaneztimmu: but there is actually a swap partition big enough,..
marienzimbezol: the idea is that if you plug in a different card it won't pick up the old one's configuration, I assume.
timmuinzanez: it's healthy to keep a bit of swap... keeps memory management happy... but it shouldn't be killing anyone if the system isn't running out of mem
inzanez: cpu usage seems ok?
marienzimbezol: plus that if you have two plugged in simultaneously their name doesn't depend on the order they're detected :)
serenan anyone explain the differences between using xinerama and not, i have doth monitors working, my understanding is that with xinerama i can log the other session under a different wm/de is this correct?
can
imbezolmarienz: yeah, it used to be fun building a new kernel remotely if you changed network drivers, made ones modules when they used to be built in or vice-versa, and wanted the system to come back up and answer ssh after the reboot :)
inzaneztimmu: at the moment yes, but as soon as the vmware is working it's a 100% ...all the time
