zlinAndrei: ^^
FunnyMan3595Ridley: He's got a core 2.
Ridleysorry!!!!!
Dr-Hfuhruhurrtimmu, It does not allow you to make exceptions for a single vhost
mechtni dont have to set the floating framepoint etc?
zerrez-dikuDrakonen, sure does! :)
mechtnor special use flags for sse etc?
Ridleymechtn: as FunnyMan3595 is pointing out, I made a mistake, you've got a core 2 duo, not a core duo. Go with nocona
FunnyMan3595mechtn: I'd go with nocona, since that's Intel's recommendation. Never know what bugs might creep up on you if you don't pay attention to them.
timmuDr-Hfuhruhurr: ah, ok. symlink time indeed :)
mechtnok ..
Dr-Hfuhruhurrtimmu, Which if you think about it, is broken as soon as you wish to install into a virtual homedir vhost e.g. http://www.mydomain.com/~user
mechtnall the rest of it is a blur..
CFLAGS="-march=prescott -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"
err
Ridleymechtn: http://gentoo-wiki.com/Safe_Cflags
personally I use -O3 with no problems.
mechtni'm reading it.. trying to paste somethign to make sure i get the right stuff
CFLAGS="-march=nocona -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"
Lenaud01-Codingwhats a good dvd back up app for linux to make them into iso?
mechtnwhats the -03 refer to? whats -pipe mean? what about fomit frame?
timmuDr-Hfuhruhurr: under ~user scheme, usually users take care of their stuff by themselves..
zerrez-dikuis there a channel for gentoo-sources?
mechtndo i need any additional thinsg added lile cflags.. "-mmmx -msse -msse2 -msse3 -Os -pipe "
Dr-Hfuhruhurrtimmu, So what happens when a user tries to run webapp-config to install a package?
timmuDr-Hfuhruhurr: more like, tar & etc...
Dr-Hfuhruhurrtimmu, It looks in /etc and tries to install into the system default location in /var/www
loki_valzerrez-diku: What version of gentoo-sources are you running?
nox-HandHello
FunnyMan3595mechtn: -O2 / -O3 are optimization levels.
timmuDr-Hfuhruhurr: i've never run across that situation :)
zerrez-dikuloki_val, 2.6.19-r5
Dr-Hfuhruhurrtimmu, That is just plain wrong. The whole purpose of webapp-config is to make it easy to upgrade. The master copies are in /usr/share byt the way, so the user can manually copy them from there
FunnyMan3595mechtn: -O3 tries to sacrifice executable size for runtime speed. It's debatable how much of an improvement this gives, and it makes for larger programs and longer compiles.
Dr-Hfuhruhurrtimmu, Basically, it is currently not fully functional
FunnyMan3595mechtn: It also (rarely) can introduce bugs to a program.
loki_valzerrez-diku: http://www-gatago.com/linux/kernel/40681070.html <--- Indicates problem with HIGMEM, which IIRC is an option to allow >4GB of ram. Do you have this? Do you need this?
mechtnFunnyMan, ok so where does the -j3 come into play?
not the same as -03 ?
slaqanyone here have a clue about interrupts? i'm wondering why /proc/interrupts reports only 117 timer interrupts for CPU0 but 1082187901 for CPU1 in my dual xeon box.. should i worry that it's not properly utilized?
