andreiatom: but what if there were other messages like this that i might have missed? i mean i only happened to be near the laptop when it said this but it might have given other messages that i missed not being next to it all the time
atomkojiro: still doesn't solve the major problem.
kojiroatom: oh? what's that?
zlinEvilAlex: actually... try `modprobe tg3`
atomAndrei: revdep-rebuild will fix it all. you only need to run it once.
kojiroAndrei: don't worry about it :)
fietronictg3 == sexxx
kojiroAndrei: it's fairly unlikely
atomkojiro: the drives are not getting recognised (with livecd, and not only gentoo). At all.
andreiok
NeozonzCan my boot be ext3?
atomNeozonz: it's preferred.
atlas95Munger, are you here?
kojiroatom: is it brand new hardware?
edoardo|officezlin, xorg-server-1.1.1-r4 don't compile
Neozonzhmm- I'm running into a weird problem
kojiroedoardo|office: what error?
fietronicNeozonz, I think the reason for using ext2 is if you are using LVM
edoardo|officezlin, wanna have a look at the error?
kojirolol
fietronicLVM doesn't support ext3
iVanhello, today at boot time my gentoo box didn't work, grub only shows a GRUB prompt, so I looked on the documentation and found this on [ http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/grub-error-guide.xml ], I checked the symbolic links, grub.conf exists, but I don't know where to run "code listing 11.4: Reinstalling Grub" it says "(Run from within the chrooted environment)" what does this means?
fietronic... if I reacall correctly.
diddlycan someone help, i accidentally umerged gcc-4 instead of gcc-3 and i am stuck without means to rebuild gcc-4
marduklvm is fs agnostic
fietronicOr... errr... that's wrong
atomkojiro: well... I think so, I don't konw when this mobo came out, but I bought it today, because my old one which I really liked gave up on me.
zlinAndrei: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml?part=3&chap=1#doc_chap4
kojiromzbot: tell diddly about rescue
mzbotkojiro: privmsgd diddly about "rescue"
fietronicI think ti's the other way... grub doesn't support LVM
edoardo|officekojiro, there are three. one for every box that was compilin'. the first one's thissun
tom.c:77: error: syntax error before "Atom"
atom.c:154: error: syntax error before "Bool"
atom.c:160: error: syntax error before "char"
atomkojiro: maybe this one feels bad because I almost had a funeral held for the old one.
Neozonzmy boot is ext3- but it says it's not a valid ext2 filesystem on boot
kojirosigh
