dpkgThe Debian Reference will answer most of your questions about Debian. Latest version at qref.sourceforge.net, or http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/reference/#contents . Read it after installing Debian, and before asking for support, as it is the closest thing Debian has to a manual. You can install it too, the packagename is "debian-reference", 'apt-get install debian-reference'.
harkfanen: what have you been pasting all along?
faneni can do the adding, i just don't know what to add
liablefanen: ^^^ read it
Azarfanen: add the links you have been pasting here
fanenone moment
yetifootif a program crashed multiple times a day like konqueror does, should it really be allowed in stable?
fanendeb http://people.debian.org/~nobse/etch/gnome2.16/ etch main
Vasisthafanen: here's the thing. the way you have been asking questions all evening indicates that you are not, shall we say, an expert debian user. That being the case, you should not be running an unstable or mixed system, because it is plain that you will not be able to get yourself out of the hole that you'll dig yourself into.
nhuismanis there a place that the /dev/mapper is setup?
like list them?
harkfanen: instead of etch main, try ./
yettenetBash.org :D
fanenk. one moment
yettenet(what kind of failures should I expect? - crash, reinstall, crash, reinstall)
Vasisthafanen: thus, we strongly recommend that you *wait* a couple months for the official backports.org package to be *ready* before you BREAK YOUR SYSTEM -- we advise you this for your own good ;)
yettenetnc

xeQterI'll soon find out
