Vasisthablenna: I dunno if that's going to help at all, but you could. The logs are in /var/log ... I'm not sure which you should read, though. If it is a hardware problem -- and that kind of problem most often is a hardware problem -- then I doubt the logs will tell you anything at all

xoz_that's still normal
freeone3000Apparently the package file list for a certain package is missing a newline. python2.4-libxml2. How do I just force debian to make the package be considered uninstalled?
xoz_freeone3000: /var/lib/dpkg/status
Vasisthaseems like there have been some wonderful improvements to the acpi interface ... when I recently booted up with acpi, it was actually running the fan, and looked like some of the interfaces might work -- I got reasonable temperature readouts and everything!
freeone3000: well... could you just uninstall the package? Is it installed or not? Maybe you need to refresh some list with apt-get update ?
xuserAfter compiling latest fluxbox and using it, all my apps have horrible big fonts, what do i need to change here?
xoz_xuser: rm .fluxbox or old configs
xuser: backup them firs
xuserxoz_: ok
xoz_xuser: inside fluxbox, you can choose themes. try some. it may help.
xuserxoz_: yeah
SurtseyI can't get apt-get to re-install apache2's configuration (/etc/apache) even after I removed the original. I don't know why, I've googled it, I've read man pages - I'm clueless. Can someone point me in the right direction, please?
GuerinSurtsey: what happens when you purge and reinstall it?
psbasedoes anyone know how I can monitor one single process with top? I can't find anything in the man..
Guerinpsbase: while true; do ps ax |grep pid ; sleep 5; clear; done
SurtseyGuerin: Nothing. I removed /etc/apache2 manually after I removed apache, just assuming apt-get would install a new configuration. But even after I remove, purge and reinstall it, nothing's there.
psbaseGuerin: that's cool. thanx
GuerinSurtsey: the config is probably not in the apache2 package, but one of the others.
Surtseypsbase: You can also make cool toys out of watch
Guerin: hmm. That's a good point, I'm pretty sure apache2 itself is a metapackage
Guerinyes.
SurtseyGuerin: Know of a better way to remove everything with 'apache' in its name than to just do it by hand with a list build from apt-cache search apache?
hmm maybe apt supports globbing.
Nope, but it supports regex! and holy hell lol.
.*apache.* is hilarious
