Dewihumboldt: bzip2 is often used with tar, and obviously you can name any file you like for the archive
humboldtwols: the problem is, I want to compress multiple files at once but not to one archive ( bzip2 -kv /media/logs/w* )
xandhumboldt: . ?
spheardhello, I want to extend the partition size that my debian install is on
humboldtxand: if I would pipe to standard output with "-c" wouldn't I have to pipe it to one file like that: bzip2 -kvc /media/logs/wXY.log > /somewhere/wXY.log.bz2
or do something like that: find /media/logs/ -name "w*" -exec bzip2 -kvc \{\} > \{\}.bz2 \;
xand: while residing in a different dir?
xand: ah "." you mean?
xand: so just like 'bzip2 -kvc /media/logs/w* .' ??

JaszboHi room. I'm running a Debian-based distro called 64 studio, and after I loging at the graphical manager, it just hangs at a blue screen. What do I do to get it to go into GDM?
jelly-hometorrr: I hear crm114 is very nice if you care to teach it.
Overflowyeah that i know, so all i need is to put the fw files there??
xeihintrying ...
stewoh, that's already been covered
humboltoAppiah: any idea? Can I change the initrd by hand somehow?
torrrjelly-home, do you know a white list based program?
Overflowniiice ill try

xeihinI tryed ps -o%cpu 3869 10 times but it show 18.1 ...
Appiahand now im a bit short on time too
xeihinin top 3869 its changing from 40% to 50% ...
jelly-hometorrr: pretty much all antispam solutions have black- and whitelists these days
humboltoAppiah: Why is it not able to find sda2 anyhow? I have no problem assembling the array when I boot from a CD!
stewxeihin: if you want the output of top, use top then, the -n1 would make it print once and stop
Appiahproper modules loaded humbolto ?
oh wait
stewxeihin: or use /proc/$PID/stat and /proc/stat to calculate it yourself, but you'd have to look up the format of those files
jelly-hometorrr: are you looking to protect a single user, a machine, an MX server?
torrrjelly-home, a server
AppiahI have an idea
xeihinisra@www:~$ top -nl
