VasisthaPete_B: I wasn't aware I asked one
insecurehow i can do that
Vasisthainsecure: just echo something, you know, check the variable values or whatever
cydorkinsecure: put set -x in that?
acuVasistha: actually a guy named nanobot asked this genial question after I pose the initial question in #html
Pete_BVasistha: I just arrived, it looked like you;d asked a question about network-manager-gnome and didn't get a specific answer, I know some about this so thought I could help
VasisthaPete_B: [00:15] <misreckoning> is there a way to specify WEP passphrase in Etch with gnome-network manager?
cydorkinsecure: i mean combination of set -x and set +x
aldinif i have amd64 installation, and want to compile something from source on it do i have to put some arguments on ./configure, make make install or not?
insecurecydork: u mean 1st set -x and bash -x scriptname ? or other way
Azarsimonrvn looks has lost his connection
xoz_aldin: ./configure --help
Pete_Bmisreckoning: it prompts you for the security type that is required, you enter the key or passphrase and it remembers it for that particular AP
aldinxoz_: i mean is it same as i would compile it on 32bit
NefariousPriorAnyone know how I can have openbox open a couple apps for me when I login with GDM?
cydorkinsecure: no i mean in the script put the set -x where you want the output and set +x after those statements
xoz_aldin: .configure takes care of that
aldinxoz_: ok
xoz_: thanks
misreckoningPete_B: it offers only Plain (ASCII) and Hex type, while I need WEP or WPA (wep probably)
AzarPete_B: got the chance to nose around on the release notes? see what is new, what is gone ? in Etch?
misreckoningNefariousPrior: use session manager
NefariousPrior: oh sorry - openbox :)
NefariousPriormisreckoning: what? lol
Vasisthamisreckoning: are you sure it's not just autodetecting that and failing to mention it in its dialog?
roland_hi i receive this after the nic stoped working on the linux pc in our lan : kernel: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready
Pete_BAzar: with regard to network-mananger-gnome?
roland_it worked ok and now it stoped working
with this message
VasisthaNefariousPrior: have you tried asking #openbox ?
misreckoningVasistha: no I don't think so - although I didn't understand you quite well :)
Vasistharoland_: have you checked the cable?
DeepY0Xhi, what package is for apt-setup?
AzarPete_B: no , in regard to your initial question about readedit, mdetect
NefariousPriorVasistha: #openbox is invite only. 8(
misreckoningNefariousPrior: I hear that GNOME is much better than openbox these days ;)
AzarNefariousPrior: they have a website with howto stuff in it
Pete_Bmisreckoning: is it not offering plain ASCII specifically for WEP? it should have recognised the AP was WEP and only offer you key methods for WEP. Be sure you;ve disabled all mention of net connections in GNOME's regular net setup section for it to work best
Azarmisreckoning: gnome is much more bloated than a small openbox
jamey-ukI'm trying to install some packages using apt-get but I keep getting this error: "libc6-dev: Depends: libc6 (= 2.4-1ubuntu12.3) but 2.5-0ubuntu11 is to be installed". Can anyone help me?
