JohnGHCMOT: after all a device file name has no bearing on what it points to ;) - you could always do mknod /dev/HUGE_DISK c 1 3 and copy a 10 terrabyte file to it :P
abrotmanOA_: that was easy :)
amphiOA_: you can ghost 'em ;)
wintixscarface: maybe you want whois tld.org ?
OA_abrotman; yep. Just prefer it if people respected the fact nicks are registered. That's why I ask people to change first, before I ghost them :)
JohnGHwintix: vim is also quite easy to use when you DO want to do crazy things once you grow to love it and become as crazy about it as it is about you! :)
CutMeOwnThroatJohnGH: but it was... dunno probably created by udev - so it reflects what is actually on the stick
abrotmanOA_: i think it's because he's french!
wintixJohnGH: but you actually have to read the manpage to do crazy things :)
CutMeOwnThroatJohnGH: but how can there be partitions without a partition table?
OA_abrotman; lol
scarfacewintix: no. I remember doing this host listing and got a list of all subdomains I specified
OA_have a good day folks
CutMeOwnThroatJohnGH: well, actually one partition - but still
JohnGHCMOT: a partition is a map of where partitions are - you can have a road without a roadmap right?
abrotmanwtf
DawnLightdoes the kernel come with the module nvidia?
abrotmanno
wintixDawnLight: no.
JohnGHOA_: you came in here to assert your right to your nick, wish us a good day, and then leave?
CutMeOwnThroatJohnGH: yes - but so how the fsck did my system find the road without the map? :)
JohnGHCMOT: if it starts at block 0 that really wouldn't be too hard :)
CutMeOwnThroathm
DawnLightso after i build a module it just stays there even after i remove the package?
CutMeOwnThroatbut why isn't it sdg, then?
I also have a stick that would not have sdX1, but just the filesystem on sdX
JohnGHCMOT: did you get my point about mknod /dev/HUGE_DISK c 1 3 ?
wintixDawnLight: if you build it the debian way, you can uninstall it.
gravityI've asked twice on debian-devel. No replies.
cafuegoI expect it's hideous.
JohnGHanyone here using a PCMCIA ethernet card on a 2.6.17 or 2.6.18 kernel?
wintixDawnLight: dpkg -l nvidia or dpkg -s nvidia - dpkg -r nvidia-kernel-`uname -r` might just do the trick.
lfsIs the netinstall iso sid?
gravityEven when beryl merges in to compiz, there's still a ton of apps that the beryl team wrote that are independent of the wm. Those are useful and need a maintainer.
DawnLighti get it wintix. thanks
gravitySo we do need those parts of beryl to get in to debian.
xozDavidProck1981: one way to find out....
actionxoz will try his lack
xozwill try his lack
gravityOur compiz maintainer has been busy with work too, so we clearly need another volunteer
I don't know how to find one.
