eeyore-x_link: and for the record, i use sid to serve files to paying and eval customers --- that's about as mission critical as you can get :-)
r0otz_stew: ahh how can i check ?
mattlmkl1525: come to #plone :)
x_linkeeyore-: hehe ok.
eeyore-x_link: sometimes it's (for me anyway) in the php/apache modules compatibility, sometimes it's in unmet dependencies
r0otz_ok cache policy
stew: .. dhcp3-server not instaleld
\amethystEdLin: Ideally you want a format that you can perform xpath (or its equivalent) on without having to process the whole file
r0otz_stew: thats what it says for dhcp3-server
x_linkeeyore-: I'm the worst Linux newb you can meet. I don't know much about Linux at all.
eeyore-: Okej.
stewr0otz_: uhh, then what makes you say you are running the dhcp3 server?
xeihinhow can I sum this?
let c=2.2+2
bash: let: c=2.2+2: syntax error in expression (error token is ".2+2")
eeyore-x_link: but, so far, in neary ten years of sid, i can't say it has ever "crashed" on me
jelly-home\amethyst: but really, _anything_ is more readable than xml, complicated parsers or not
r0otz_stew: cuz its located in /etc/dhcp3
stewr0otz_: how did you install it?
r0otz_stew: i got no clue.. now im all screwewd up
\amethystxeihin: c=`echo 2.2+2 | bc`
eeyore-x_link: the *closest* call i can blame sid on is the upgrade of mysql. but that is special case.
streunerxeihin: #bash
x_linkeeyore-: Okej.
xeihinxD
r0otz_stew: some dhcp is installed now i dont know what
stewr0otz_: which dhcp server do you have installed?
x_linkeeyore-: Well I'm not a very advanced user like I just said. So when something happens I don't know how to fix it good.
r0otz_stew: i dont know, how can i check? other then apt-cache policy daemon
eeyore-x_link: i hadn't updated in a *long* time and when i upgraded, mysql dropped support for my old table format so i have no access to old data. but the fix was simple. go grab old mysql, do the table conversion, update mysql, and off it went. THAT was the only time i got stressed upgrading sid ...
x_link: then sid is NOT for you :-)
\amethystjelly-home: relational DBs are less readable than xml :)
Overflow-debianstew pls help i still got no sound
EdLin\amethyst: yeah. It's too bad the W3C stuck their nose in the data business.
r0otz_stew: if i have /etc/dhcp3/ wouldnt that be installed?
Overflow-debiani did anything possible
x_linkeeyore-: I know, I just want to try it out.
EdLin\amethyst: basically XML is a hack based on a hack
jelly-home\amethyst: at least you have none of those stuck in /etc
EdLin\amethyst: based on a *document* format.
