| xingu | wols: that thought irks me |
| styx_tdo | actually, the root cause for spammers to be efficient it not a technical one, anyway. it's weird ppl who actually fall for the spam... the base principle against spam should not be a technical, but a social one |
| xingu | wols: it also doesn't really address the problem - which is - that flicking postits at people in order to communicate is frankly rubbish. |
| wols | claudio`: is irssi actually using port 20000? |
| claudio` | wols: not anymore but i can set it |
| wols | claudio`: huh? I didn't ask what you set it to. I asked what it does |
| claudio` | wols: if i set dcc_port to 20000 it use the 20000 yes. |
| styx_tdo | dondelelcaro are you still reading? |
| xingu | in fact, email has an even lower information density than a post-it; at least it's easier to hand-write a post-it than print one, meaning that you have some idea as to message originator. |
| robin_sz | styx_tdo, most people on here ignore priv msgs as a policy |
| styx_tdo | *sigh* i am fighting Xen since 2 months now... and i am getting desperate. anyone an idea where a cooplerative xen guru is reachable on IRC? |
| claudio` | styx_tdo: probably on #netbsd which there is the developers of the Xen port on NetBSD s/is/are |
| xingu | claudio`: your self enforced fragility has broken dcc; dcc is as the name suggests client-to-client; which means that your choke point must inspect the application flow (irc protocol) between client and irc server in order to create state for an expected client-to-client connection. |
| action | robin_sz has no idea what xen is |
| robin_sz | has no idea what xen is |
| xingu | claudio`: you may find that there's an iptables conntrack helper module for this |
| styx_tdo | xen is virtualization SW to split one server into virtual ones. one can even take a whole envionmen includin IP and so on and simply move it to another machine |
| cbr | please, someone go to http://www.postimees.ee and tell me whether your Iceweasel crashes |
| claudio` | xingu: can you point me to some URL/Howto? |
| cbr | mine does for some reason.. every single time |
| cast | isn't there a xen channel? |
| cydork | styx_tdo: you tried #xen? |
| styx_tdo | cydork yep, for some weeks.. |
| claudio` | xingu: THX anyway |
| cast | cbr: loads fine. do i get a free virus? |
| cbr | cast: no, it's a newspaper cast: crashes for me :S |
| cast | cbr: clear your cookies? :\ |
| MarcoPau | hello, in the xmms preferences I see alsa and the correct device, the volumes are up, but there's no sound |
| wols | nabziF: are you in the audio group? MarcoPau: |
| cbr | doesnt help |
| MarcoPau | wols: you're right, let me check |
| claudio` | xingu: are you talking about ip_conntrack? |
