iKernelustunozgur, link again plz :)
th1maybe he wants to distribute precompiled software?
iKernelth1, or maybe he wants to do it for fun?
th1yeah, or to learn about debian
there are many possible reasons :)
however I don't demand to know a reason to help..
balbir97streuner: actually i need to build a cutomize debian package of my program
iKernelI remember making and maintaining gzlauncher rpms for a while, was trying to get it into fedora-extras
th1RPMs are a nightmare to build..
balbir97streuner: it's a small utility
th1debian's packaging system is so much better
ustunozguriKernel: you can install the ubuntu package too. or you can download as a separate program
th1balbir97, is it fairly standard like "./configure; make; make install" kinda thing? because if it is there is a shortcut you can take
ustunozgurthe ubuntu deb link is:http://packages.ubuntu.com/feisty/sound/asoundconf-gtk
iKernelbut then the authour of gzlauncher came along and basically said that zdaemon people won't allow his client to connect because it's open source and they don't want people attacking zdaemon servers
ustunozgurand the separate program link is: http://revu.tauware.de/revu1-incoming/asoundconf-gtk-0612041405/asoundconf-gtk_1.5.orig.tar.gz
balbir97I want to add it to my own repositery, so using apt-get I will be able to use that
th1: I want to add it to my own repositery, so using apt-get I will be able to use that
ustunozgurIt's a simple program (~5-10 kb), just a frontend to the cli
th1balbir97, for how to manage your own repository check here http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/apt-howto/
iKerneltks
th1balbir97, you might also want to go for http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Debian-Binary-Package-Building-HOWTO/ if you want more concise information on just how the package building works..
it might be enough for a "minimal" package
xandphlax: I'd try a different mirror maybe
fatmanhello, i am fat-man and i weigh 400 pounds. you can see video of my supreme fatness at www.fat-man.org
tarzeau!ops fatman is a spammer
dpkgHydroxide, bob2, caphuso, dondelelcaro, doogie, eeyore-, ElectricElf, ):, helix, ljlane, LoRez, RichiH, mentor, Netsnipe, TML, walters, xk, gravity, azeem, Maulkin, stew, peterS, Alife, Myon, Ganneff, Maulkin, weasel, zobel: tarzeau complains about: fatman is a spammer
phlaxxand: i have and i checked the one there for availability and for the package being listed in Packages.gz
xand: its something wrong with dpkg/apt
iKernelustunozgur, Lol! I probably could've made that application (back when I was playing with pygtk, not now)
phlaxxand: i caned /var/lib/dpkg/available and re-updated - still no joy
iKernelustunozgur, lol, once I made a doom selector (for personal use only). I could run the program and I could either press Doom 1 and it'd start Doom 1 or Doom 2 and it'd start Doom 2
it was fun
ustunozgur:) yes, simple but that's a very helpful app, indeed
iKernelustunozgur, probably makes use of the command that lists alsa cards, gawk, and asoundconf :)
phlaxxand: thanx for help - worked it out - erroneous preferences file in /etc/apt
xand: pinning to testing
nvzI couldnt get my route to my gateway to work for shit last night. the route was set but it just wasn't working was like hanging when displaying the output of route too
I unplugged the damn pc for the night it was pissing me off.. now it magically works
