vinvinok :)
iKernelyos87: okay, type lsof /dev/dsp
yos87iKernel: no, I have one only, I don't what's that
iKernelyos87: god knows
vinvinany idea why configure is not happy with libfreetype6 for freetype2 ?
yos87iKernel: 1 dsp only
iKernelyos87: so you do not have /dev/dsp1 or /dev/dsp0 only /dev/dsp
yos87: type lsof /dev/dsp
yos87yes]
I don't have
iKernelyos87: apt-get install lsof
yos87I did already http://pastebin.ca/494568
this is the terminal out http://pastebin.ca/494568
iKernelyos87: riight... so the terminal output of lsof /dev/dsp is "I have problem in my vlc media player, it's playing video but not playing Audio, the totem media player play the audio narmally, and the internet browser also cannot play audio in the vedio file"
vinvinlol
yos87iKernel: http://pastebin.ca/494579
iKernelyos87: please be more careful when copying and pasting links
vinvinesd :)
iKernelyos87: that's better
yos87iKernel: i'm sorry, again mistake
because i want to be fast
iKernelyos87: killall -9 esd , restart vlc and your web browser, and try again
yos87iKernel: it works
iKernelyos87: :)
yos87what's the -9 esd?
why it was not working
iKernelyos87: because /dev/dsp was in use by esd
cydorkyos87: coz esd sucks!
fooHm, it's taking forever to mount an nfs share... I installed portmap, I thought that was all I needed. Anything else?
iKernelyos87: only 1 program at a time can use /dev/dsp
yos87iKernel: Thank you verymuch
vinvin: sorry for the mistakes I did
iKernelyos87: you are welcome
vinvinnp
iKernelyos87: you will probably need to kill esd again everytime you reboot
yos87: and the reason why it was working in totem was because totem uses esd
yos87hum
vinvinfoo: nfs-common in debian
iKernelyos87: what esd is, a sound daemon, which lets multiple applications play sound at the same time. BUT. the applications must all be able to use esd
yos87iKernel: can't we stop the est permenetly?
