NY Lost Funds

en1gmai have a small window unit airconditioner i can play with...i been googling with no luck for last 1/2 hour
mackssitchi, is there someone else here who would know with more confidence?
itchimackss: Ask \amethyst he showed you the bug
\amethystmackss: yes, that should be sufficient
mackss\amethyst, should i just change the bottom lines in /etc/kernel-img.conf to "/usr/sbin/update-grub"? here is my current conf http://pastebin.ca/494253
\amethystmackss: the latest grub in unstable removes the warning, but yes, that's the proper fix
mackss\amethyst, thank you
\amethyst, is there anyway i can do something to make sure i fixed it before i restart?
itchimackss: I may guess that the 'problem' may happend in the future, if you install a newer kernel
\amethystitchi: not if one updates kernel-img.conf
mackssitchi, i don't understand what you mean :-/
itchi\amethyst: Yeah, sure
mackss: I mean that you may get some troubles when you install a newer kernel now, if you not update that /etc/kernel-img.conf or if the package is not yet fixed before you install a decenter kernel
mackssoh ok
\amethystmackss: you could run /var/lib/dpkg/info/linux-image-$(uname -r).postinst configure
mackssitchi, thanks
\amethyst, that looks very complex for me...:-/
\amethystmackss: that will repeat the step that gave you the warning before
nhuisman_workhow can I get a list of installed packages on my box?
\amethystmackss: just type that (starting from /var up to configure) at the command line
mackss\amethyst, do you think it's just safe for me to reboot?
itchinhuisman_work: dpkg -l
\amethystas root
nhuisman_workthx
itchinhuisman_work: Then do whatever on that output, filter it
\amethystmackss: I think so, because if I'm not mistaken the /sbin/update-grub does call /usr/sbin/update-grub after printing the warning
mackssok
itchinhuisman_work: Probably you want somethings like dpkg -l | grep ^ii
mackss\amethyst, restart is the proper command right?
or shutdown -r
\amethystmackss: reboot or shutdown -r now
zeebleanyone having problems running pidgin?
crap .. it connects and dumps
itchinhuisman_work: What want you to do with that output?
nhuisman_worki was just curious what got installed
with the debian boot strap
itchioh ok :-p
nhuisman_workwhat is "rc"
in that list
vs "ii"
