nvzdonaldo: its just too much for a humble little group like the debian community to try and spread their efforts that far
weasel00yeah... i know thats not the minimun.. i just know that number from the cd i just made friday
CaT[tm]troll: one sec
trollboydoes anyone know the min?
danke
I'm building something with itx and cf card hd's
donaldotrollboy: the size of the net install CD does not reflect the size of a linux system with the debian base system installed
trollboy: you might want to try a system designed for a small storage capacity on your target installation media then
trollboyI know of DamnSmall Linux
but was just hoping to rock the debian
CaT[tm]troll: 269M foetus/
troll: this includes /var
troll: subtract 91M for /var
troll: that has ssh, sshd and rsync aswell :) so there's a few meg :)
nvzits benefit to debian that tools like dpkg, apt, and boot-cd has allowed so many to spinoff in different directions.. but in places like this is where the negitive effects are seen the most.. when we are holding the burden of trying to understand the new bugs introduced into our sanitary cycle
bbelt16agso peeps who has played with sabayon??
since i am getting annoyed with debian atm. something is screwing up
nvzits like people using debian, but mixing between the branches.. they are finding various anomalies in our packages that we never really intended to work together in the first place, are wasting resources by filing bugs, and pestering volenteer support on irc with their complex problems
amphi!blame debian
actiondpkg blames itchi and debian for all the evil in the world
dpkgblames itchi and debian for all the evil in the world
donaldobbelt16ag: i used sabayon once. neither glx nor aiglx worked. but i heard it has come a long way since then.
amphiheh
donaldobbelt16ag: for what it's worth i was trying it on a dell inspiron
hark!info sabayon
dpkgsabayon: (system administration tool to manage GNOME desktop settings), section gnome, is optional. Version: 2.18.1-1 (sid), Packaged size: 343 kB, Installed size: 2352 kB

donaldowhat i find interesting is that i don't know where ubuntu users get the impression that debian support structures are a good place to get support for ubuntu
bbelt16agwell what i will prolly end up doing when i have the time slot for it is do a dual install and use the same /home directory so i can get my customizations and see which works better first
for me
aye donaldo
weasel00im suprised there isnt an oscommerce pkg for debian in apt
bbelt16agwhy they come here i dunno .
weasel00donaldo - perhaps because the ubuntu support has been found...lacking?
bbelt16agi cant seem to figure out the bottle neck on why my pc is sluggish and it was anything but on the live cd..
hehe
donaldoheh, yeah i suppose that is bound to happen
bbelt16ag: maybe you have a really slow hard drive and a super-fast optical drive? :P
shogunxa small monkey with a chisel and stone tablets carving out 0's and 1's
