GhostlyDeathThe multimedia one isn't even part of debian
dondelelcaroWyzard: that's dpkg; I talked about ucf.
WyzardIt's not a deal-breaker, but etc-update's merging option is convenient

actionWyzard has heard of ucf but has only ever seen conffile prompts from dpkg
Wyzardhas heard of ucf but has only ever seen conffile prompts from dpkg
dondelelcarogenerally you don't see them from ucf because it tends to be used for configuration files that use debconf, so it gets the values right almost all of the time
Wyzardchovy: I wouldn't use Ubuntu on a server, but I'd be reluctant to use Gentoo either, because Gentoo doesn't have the concept of a "stable release" like server-oriented distros (Debian, RedHat, etc.) do

wadIs there another way to use SASL authentication than using mysql, for postfix? I'm only going to have a single username/password for the whole site, so a databse lookup seems like overkill...
