hark!cookie build-essential
actiondpkg pulls out the cookie jar and finds unsupported raid installs... install an ide hd in the machine, install debian to that, install build-essential, make-kpkg, fakeroot, d/l kernel source, build with 'fakeroot make-kpkg kernel_image' and install the .deb it creates, then reboot and make sure your scsi/raid card and drives are visible, then partition, mke2fs (or whatever fs) them, mount them and cp -a everything over to the array
