bhundvenhehe, but it doesn't read environment variables, so looks like you need to: apt-get source gmrun
JarJarBinks|metahehe, I'll love that
dimgrhi , i have a dual AMD system ... what do i need to add in /etc/kernel-pkg.conf to take advantage of the 2 cpus when building a new kernel
bhundvenick... and it's c++

bhundvennono
I got a real answer coming for you... hang on
;)
Alarmthe point is that something is not working that well i guess. glxgears works ok . i see the logo , drivers seem to be installed. but if i play soldier of fortune with cedega, the game goes on really low frames rates. where i didnt have any problem at all in kubuntu with it. thats why i want to know if there is something else i can check on the drivers
i dont think its a matter of the new nvidia drivers, as i was playing on ubuntu with old drivers without any problem. so i dont know if installing the latest now would be a solution . any suggestions of what i could check ? (cedegas settings are exactly the same as they were in ubuntu)
jdhoreif i have the deb-src repos enabled, is there any way i can "reinstall" certian apps by compiling them from source?
harkAlarm: well, that's not supported here
Alarmbut where ? nvidia on debian should be asked where ?
harkAlarm: maybe try with LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo/glxgears
Alarmthats a console command or a line that should be added in a config file ?
sepAlarm, i just install nvidia-kernel-$(uname -r) from non-free
harkAlarm: LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo |head
and see if anything seems wrong
Alarmsep, thank you for ur info, i managed to install nvidia drivers with this guide htttp://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaHowTo . i just dont know if everything is working ok , thats the point
harkAlarm: and try with a 3d game from debian's repos too, instead of cedega to confirm
AlarmHark u didnt tell me. those things u wrote should be listed somewhere or what ?
hark, could u mention a game please that i could try ?
dimgrhi , i have a dual AMD system ... what do i need to add in /etc/kernel-pkg.conf to take advantage of the 2 cpus when building a new kernel
