artagnonto rip to*
Dewiartagnon: note down the timecode and jump to after there manually
artagnon: if you're lucky your player will have a "skip to this many seconds in" type feature
alleyoopsterartagnon: there are some skip options in mplayer you may want to check out
artagnonalleyoopster: yeah? I'll check the manpage
alleyoopsterartagnon: yeah, i am no expert, but have a look yourself, it may help. The man page is scary
artagnon:)
I can skip over stuff even otherwise using the bar to manually drag to the desired seconds, but that doesn't work either
and it isn't just one part that's damanged, it's many bits in between that are damaged
it's too much of a pain to skip over each of them anyway (even if I could without touching the damaged part)
alleyoopsterartagnon: maybe try writing the DVD out to ISO and reburn
slack__hi anybody!
Dewiartagnon: physical device failures take a long time, but if you zero out the sectors on a clean medium (HD or another DVD) it will fail fast and hopefully just skip past badness
artagnonalleyoopster: Already suggested but ironically I don't have enough disk space to rip to :)
bhundvenJarJarBinks|meta: specify the PATH before the command?: PATH="/opt/gnome-cvs" my-prog-needing-custom-path
artagnonDewi: I think that's the only option left
I need to buy some SATA first :P
Thanks all. Gotta run
JarJarBinks|metabhundven: so I need to keep an uptodate path variable multiple places
bhundvenyou could update your path in .bashrc or .bash_profile
or if you want everyone to access it update your /etc/profile
JarJarBinks|metait is uptodate... it works in my default shell, and with that PATH, but gmrun does not read the $PATH variable
not the local one at least
in .`echo -n $SHELL`rc
