kurczehi
does anybody know how to enable faad support in gstreamer on Debian?
karstenEnverex: Sure, if that's all that it needs you should be good to go.
Dave_is_sexyhmm. i am sceptical that the archive can be unpacked
how am i ever going to get my wireless card to work :(
kurczeI want to play some m4a files throught gstreamer engine and no matter what I install... it doesn't work
Enverexkarsten, What entries other than physical drives does Debian normally have?
karstenEnverex: I'd also check, though: /etc/hosts, /etc/hostname, /etc/network/interfaces. Notes are now appendix D.3, see D.3.4 for a basic checklist: http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/i386/apds03.html.en#id2550989
Enverex: /proc and swap. /sys takes care of itself.
Enverexkarsten, All the other files are fine
karstenEnverex: Also any standard removable devices, eg: /media/cdrom, /media/floppy. Generally not USB.
EnverexYeah, I know the basics...
karstenOK
xanddave_is_sexy: maybe you could run it in wine :)
JordiGHI think that when machines in my local school network boot into Windows, they immediately see available printers and can choose which one to print from. Is this possible from Debian?
EnverexWhat's the mountline for proc?
Dave_is_sexyxand: yeah, i think i'm past caring. its not going to work
karstenxand: Beat you to that.
Enverex(not one I want to get wrong)
b_jonasplease help
pdbogenb_jonas : We'll help, but FOR GOD'S SAKE DON'T TELL US WHAT YOU NEED.
karstenEnverex: proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
b_jonassince I've upgraded to etch, gv won't remember my settings even if I click save
Enverexheh, got it right then
JordiGHEverything here is Windows. Presumably the printers use whatever software that's available for Windows too.
karsten!tell b_jonas about ask
b_jonasin the setup options dialog box
it does write the settings to the file ~/.gv
but doesn't load them
it always starts with the default settings
why could that be?
Dave_is_sexywell if i can't get my wireless working for the 9th evening, i guess it's game over. on another note, is xpdf the best for speed and compatibility?
pdbogendave_is_sexy : xpdf is not bad. acroread is actually pretty quick, though.
karstenb_jonas: I wasn't aware gv *had* an options file.
kth`Is it possible to bridge wired ethernet interface with a wireless ethernet? Or does that require special mac spoofing capabilities on the wlan card?
karstenb_jonas: It's not mentioned in the manpage. Might run strace and see if it's even being accessed.
pdbogenkth` : Yes to your second question.
kth` : Lots of wireless cards can't do it.
b_jonasI didn't know about the config file either, only that I could change the configs from the dialogs and could save them :)
the info page does mention ~/.gv
