tencook, i'm now member of group plugdev, but i still can't use gnome-volume-manager: "Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied."
valdynsolemnwarning: like dirvish or whatever
\amethystBUMBACL0T: that's not how it works
wols_vyrus001: you said you used the "debian way"
so what was your make-kpkg line
vyrus001wols_ i didnt save it <_<, but that was just the last method i tried
BUMBACL0T\amethyst, so, should i give up or what
wols_vyrus001: do you use RAID or have a reason to use initrd?
vyrus001wols_, and if possible id like to just use the standard make && make install
\amethystBUMBACL0T: Do you want ftp connections from outside to go to .100, to .101, or to go randomly to either
wols_vyrus001: suit yourself
\amethystBUMBACL0T: err, port 55 connections rather
valdynsolemnwarning: i use dirivsh over ssh. The cipher does not cause any significant load compared to what backing up a gazillion files does to disk performance
BUMBACL0T\amethyst, which one should i remove then? 101 or 100 ?
vyrus001wols_, im usin yarid at the moment
AndreaHi folks! I'm trying to have a script using the last output from another process when this one becomes irresposive. I was thinking about something able to accumulate the char # in a shell var. Any idea? (or *any*thing which could do the job?)
BUMBACL0T\amethyst, 101 right?
valdynsolemnwarning: particularily when most files are only checked and found identical to last backup
BUMBACL0T\amethyst, 101 is my windows machine
wols_vyrus001: that's not what I asked. do you have a reason to use initrd?
\amethystBUMBACL0T: then remove 101
abrotmanAndrea: might want to try #bash
WannabeNewbieI need to reinstall kde and gnome on my system do to an ID 10 T problem that may or may not have been caused by me. How would I completely erase them so that I can reinstall them through my terminal?
\amethystBUMBACL0T: Also the 40000-50000 forward to .101
vyrus001wols_, im on ext3, i was under the impression that its nessisary if you use ext3
valdyn!remove kde
dpkgremove kde is probably aptitude purge kdelibs-data kdelibs4c2a
vyrus001wols_, cus if its not, then no
wols_vyrus001: your impression is very wrong
valdyn!remove gnome
dpkgapt-get --purge remove libgnome32 libgnome2-common (or ask me about "install gnome"), or after removing those, run 'aptitude' and look at section 'gnome' to remove the rest.
wols_vyrus001: compile ext3 into the kernel
valdynWannabeNewbie: whatever an ID 10 T problem might be..
vyrus001wols_, i did
wols_make-kpkg kernel_image
vyrus001wols_, but it still trys to go to my old libs dir and load that ext3 module
BUMBACL0T\amethyst, removed, same error
wols_gives you a shiny new deb you can install and which is automatically added to your bootloader
Andreaabrotman: actually, I was now searching in irchelp a good channel. Thanks :)
pointerI have a box that is loading both mptscsi and qlogic drivers in an initramfs on etch....and for some reason it's loading order appears to be random...I need to load the mpt/fusion drivers first...but when I specify a module list....the qlogic driver doesn't seem to be able to load the firmware...could this be some wierd udev bug or something?
