valdynkingsley: im sure someone would have noticed if scsi didn't work
sprink_is there some way to close a group of packages in aptitude if you're not at the top of the group?
yoshioZmanu: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.15/+bug/54273 https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.15/+bug/49367
kingsleyvaldyn: I agree on both counts and am left with the paradox that SCSI doesn't work for me, and yet there
is no bug report.
Zmanuyoshio: that's work, thanks a lot
valdynkingsley: so its not scsi that is not working
Zmanunow i must remove ehci_hcd for module
kingsleyvaldyn: Can you elaborate?
valdynkingsley: its not the linux kernel scsi subsystem that is broken
archvilleHi. Any app to generate stats about hard disks space ?
yoshioZmanu: at the bottom of the second URL are the instructions for blacklisting a module
kingsleyvaldyn: Why do you think that's so?
Zmanuyoshio: perfect :)
yoshioarchville: like dh -H ?
sprink_archville: df -h ?
hehe
valdynkingsley: because someone else would have noticed, and this would be _the_ most important rc bug for etch, probably
archvilleI mean... something to see the directories/files wich take more space and such
yoshioarchville: try du instead
Zmanuyoshio: better is to add it to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist, no ?
abrotmanarchville: ls | du -sk
rjalexhello I find a lot of instruction on compiling and installing the atheros madwifi drivers bit most are very old and not debian oriented ... any sugestions for a good up to dat howto _ thanks
abrotmanor -sh
!tell rjalex about madwifi
yoshioarchville: oops, not 'dh'
rjalexthank you abrotman
archvilleabrotman, ok, thanks
kingsleyvaldyn: I understand your reasoning, agree with most of it, and will only add that it seems to me that part of the kernel's SCSI subsystem may have a bug, and my box happens to fall into the corner case that exacerbates the bug.
pickcodersuccess.. got 270MB draft-n working with the WMP300N
yoshioZmanu: you're right
Brackiamphi: any idea what else i can try?
jjazzIf I request http://localhost/~user/dir, apache returns the content of index.php. If I request user/dir/index.php, apache runs the code as expected. Where can I tell apache to do the right thing in the first instance? Thanks.
valdynkingsley: now if you could follow these general rules of this channel to provide actually useable information. like the driver you are using, your system, and a precise error description
rjalexdoes anyone know if the keyboard language can be changed on the fly under xfce _ thanks
valdynrjalex: did you search the applets coming with xfce?
rjalexI am exploring them valdyn but so far cannot switch input language. thanks
archvilleWhat is /srv for ?
valdynrjalex: its called 'keymap'
rjalex: ( what you are trying to change i mean )
