Dinosaurstew: switching from http://ftp. to ftp://http. also worked for me. just http://http. not working. perhaps my ISP has some proxy in place.
mindframewhats the easiest way to screenshot w/ a bound key?
(fluxkeys)
Jingcheng_Zhaostew: please choose a method for selecting your monitor characteristics: medium: advanced?
stewDinosaur: no. it is a known problem that one of the http.us mirrors is out of sync, its not your isp
wolsrobin_sz: notice how it says "ext2" always on that site? journalled filesystems don't work so hot with undelete...
robin_szpablo_, but REMEBER DO NOT and I repeat, DO NOT attempt to install debugfs or anything else onto that filesystem right now ... do that, and you will most likely write over the files you want to recover
stewJingcheng_Zhao: when in doubt, hit enter
Jingcheng_Zhaostew: advanced?
robin_szwols, hes not ext2?
Dinosaurstew: thanks for your help.
enoufNwallins: hrm .. you should check you cpuinfo "mhz" first as I said earlier .. erm .. 8MB onboard RAM ain't a lot .. and did you configure X to use Framebuffer? How much Aperture is set in the BIOS? .. etc etc
wols21:23 < pablo_> ext3
Nwallinsenouf: framebuffer, what is that setting?
enoufNwallins: when you dpkg-reconfigure X
cokeslutprivate
Nwallinsenouf: I have a feeling that may fix it
enoufNwallins: /msg drxx
Jingcheng_Zhaostew: now start x?
enouferm /msg dpkg drxx
Jingcheng_Zhaostew: startx now?
Kobazrobin_sz: i've never had debugfs find anything for me when using ext3
HardDisk_WPhi
Jingcheng_Zhaostew: Shall i startx?
robin_szwols, well, ext3 is just ext2 with a journal .. it should still work for static data
HardDisk_WPhas anyone a tool to convert SWF movies to AVI?
ffmpeg wont eat it
Nwallinsenouf: thanks, I will try your suggestions when I get home -- log back on from there
robin_szKobaz, oh, dear
enoufNwallins: hold a sec
Jingcheng_Zhaostew:
stew: startx?
wolsrobin_sz: no it doesn't when inodes are zeroed
Jingcheng_Zhaowols: after configureation, do i startx?
wolsand for journalling to work they have to be
Jingcheng_Zhao: sure
Nwallinsenouf: I am pretty sure /proc/cpuinfo reports the correct mhz
