ewanm89%satnonestrike Guerin
JordiGH!penixstrike ewanm89
dpkgA towering Penix descends from the heavens, knocking ewanm89 to the ground and leaving a large wet spot.
bzedJordiGH: http://www.pocoo.org/ that's what I'd use if I'd ahve to setup a new forum. I'm running some tikiwiki, too, but they're behind some apache auth, so chances to do bad stuff in there are not as high as with a noremal install
ewanm89JordiGH: Anyone can do penix strikes I wanted to do a satnone strike
JordiGHBut is it in Debian?
ewanm89, I think you can write your own rule for the kind of strike you may want, or perhaps you need admin privileges to do it.
bzedJordiGH: i don;t think so. but I usually prefer not to use debian packages for web stuff
JordiGHbzed, I prefer to use Debian packages for everything. :-)
If it's free software, it belongs in Debian. :-)

PaSurfis there a way to restore the /etc directory from backup?
pickcoderif you have a backup
that's the critical aspect..
PaSurfOr, basically, I have deleted the /etc directory, no backup, but its on a testing machine... For the future, other than not deleting the /etc folder, can I restore the /etc from backup..
Supaplexthat all depends on your backup. what kind is it?
pickcoderer.. no
there is no waste basket for "rm /etc/"
PaSurfI was messing around with backup-manager ....
Supaplexonce it's deleted, kiss it gooooodddbye
PaSurfIf there where a backup, would that be something I could restore with little problems....?
SupaplexTHAT'S THE WHOLE CONCEPT
PaSurfor at least minor issues?
abrotmanPaSurf: many people put /etc/ in a control system of some sort
pickcoderabrotman: unless CVS/SVN can recover a missing root tree, how does that help?
PaSurfkewl. Seeing how this is a testing machine, no harm done, but always like to be prepared....
abrotmanpickcoder: you can check it out?
jmalickipickcoder: you redeploy the machine from scratch
pickcoderabrotman: one of 700 files?
<g>
chovyis there an "apt-search" or apt-find?
jmalickilike, reinstall, and then check out
abrotmanpickcoder: all of it!
