I-kidowant to use DEBIAN splashscreen blue neon logo 04 as wallpaper :)
creatureabrotman: See http://www.bootsplash.de/files/themes/screenshots/Theme-SwirlPool-verbose-top.png
I-kido: It's onlya 16 colour image, I wouldn't.
I-kidoarggg
Thmscan I install debian on logical space ?
abrotmancreature: is there a thing for creating your own ?
I-kidoI like shiny glassy pics :)
creatureIt's fine for the 4 seconds or so it's on screen as a grub boot thing, but I wouldn't want it as a background.
abrotman: For which tool? Bootsplash?
jetscreamerThms: if you mean lvm, yes... how, i dunno.
abrotmancreature: i guess
GutterPunksep, thanks, I'll check it out
creatureabrotman: Well, if by "thing" then ish. AFAICT, you make a jpeg image or two and a config file which describes the image a bit. Which areas are writable, which bits are progress bars, and so on.
FlimzyDoesn't apt-get have a module to allow for bittorrent?
I-kidoFlimzy: module?
creatureabrotman: The most tricky bit was recompiling the kernel for it, but even that was just a case of doing apt-get install linux-patch-bootsplash and then adding "--added_packages=bootsplash" into the make-kpkg process.
abrotmancreature: ick .. recompile .. no thanks
creature: i'm entirely too lazy to go through that for what it does :)
FlimzyI-kido: probably the wrong term. an extension? A package that adds the ability for a torrent source :)
abrotmanFlimzy: no
pzn_how can I check the differences between linux-image-2.6.18-3-686 and linux-image-2.6.18-4-686 debian packages? "-3" "-4" is the debian revision?
GutterPunksep, can't find anything about it anywhere :(
actionjetscreamer notes that cp'ing ~/.mozilla/firefox/* to ~/.mozilla/iceweasel/ works
jetscreamernotes that cp'ing ~/.mozilla/firefox/* to ~/.mozilla/iceweasel/ works
FlimzySo if I want to fetch Debian updates via torrent... I'll have to set up my own local mirror that is somehow fed by a torrent, eh?
creatureabrotman: I would be too, normally, but as I explained yesterday the ladies love a pretty boot process.
Also, I expect to be using my laptop in a roomful of Mac users soon, and I don't want them to point and laugh.
I-kidojetscreamer: , do the extensions also work ?
jetscreamernot sure
i don't have any that i know of
I-kidojetscreamer: i can upload mine :)
jetscreamermy extension window is empty so i guess i don't have any
I-kidopdf download, adblock, tabpreferences
Nyle!downgrade
dpkgmethinks downgrade is not possible with apt-get currently. No future support is anticipated. Some programs change the binary format of their files in a way that cannot be rolled back later, and package maintainer scripts provide ways to upgrade to new config file formats but not ways to downgrade. You can always try to downgrade a package using dpkg -i <olderversion.deb>.
I-kidothats what I have
dejand_jo, how do i find out wlan driver?
FlimzyThere is a tool called apt-torrent
I-kido!wlan
