jelly-homeholycow: also, kernel shows 1k blocks in /proc/partitions
holycow: take a look: http://paste.debian.net/22321
colshamconcerning MBR, is there only one copy in one drive?
holycowoh!
stewcolsham: yes, the first 512 bytes of the drive
holycowjelly mine doesn't
csimonHi. How would I change the mapping of my mouse's buttons? Instead of using the left-button for normal use and the right for bringing up options and such, I'd like to switch them.
antumrahul i still can't find any info on Google for setting up multiple sftp users and only allowing them access to their website directories. do you have any links or ideas on what to search for?
stewwell thats the boot sector, the bootrecord is less
csimon: use xmodmap
jelly-homeholycow: you can tell cfdisk to use sectors, when it asks for "Size in MB", tell it something like 1200000s
holycow: the s bit indicates sectors
holycowohhhhh
colshamstew, if that info is corrupted, the whole drive is inaccessible?
holycowhttp://pastebin.ca/365576
rahulantum: oh, their own website dirs?
antum: oh boy, you're in for some fun
stewcolsham: if the partition table is corrupted then possibly unless you can reconstruct the partition table. if you just lost your bootloader, you can replace it easily
rahulantum: uh, you're going to need to chroot them and create an entire unix environment inside each of their home dirs
or at least enough for them to do what they need to do
g333k_laptopwhat's the best atari emulator?
jelly-homeholycow: your hda is 320GB?
bintutis there a separate repository for beryl+aiglx on debian etch?
holycowno main one is 160
hda
colshamstew, i am referring to the MBR. is there no way to have a backup copy in another sector of the drive?
jelly-homeholycow: ah, I count the whole disk too by mistake
fsmunozbintut, yes.
colshamstew, i am thinking about physical damage to the sector of the drive holding the MBR.
antumrahul, crap
jelly-homeholycow: yes, the /proc/partitions numbers are in kilobytes. You'll need to double them to get sectors
bintutfsmunoz: where can i find it?
antumrahul, i've suddenly decided i don't need to do that :)
rahulantum: let's hope you trust your users
stewcolsham: yes. i am also referring to the mbr. you can easily save a copy of the mbr using dd.
fsmunozbintut, #1 and #2 on a google search for "Beryl Debian"
stewcolsham: i don't know if there are alternatives if the boot sector is no longer usable
holycowjelly-home, if those are in kb ... and cfdisk asks for mb ... i should be able to just multiply right?
or rather divide?
antumrahul, i'm just going to look after the ftp side of things myself, i wont have any external users connecting to the site... especially if it means all that extra setup.
