undesktopmarkybob: system packets... packets required to do system related things
actiontalexb wishes there was a distro whose update packager worked with a little less fus.
talexbwishes there was a distro whose update packager worked with a little less fus.
predderEitan, there should be an error?
eitanolsen: all of this began after I installed all the "recommended" backports in synaptic.
olsenEitan: try putting "gnome-session" on your ~/.xinitrc and launch X with 'startx'
eitanpredder: no error was displayed.
olsenEitan: oh
Eitan: i see
talexbundesktop, I don't care if it's a script or not -- I just want to it to either a) b) fail with some good diagnostisc. An error return 2 is meaningless except to the original developer.
Sorry, a) work, or b) fail ..
undesktoptalexb: I agree, but you see: these scripts are just stupid bash scripts... so... *shrug*
talexbundesktop, OK .. I can hack shell .. where are these fickin' scripts.
eitanolsen: I have to figure out either how to unbreak my windowing system, or simply remove all of the (stupid) backports and revert back to the previous unbackported and working setup.
undesktoptalexb: the scripts are under /var/lib/dpkg/info/packetname.bla
markybobtalexb, download the source and look in the debian folder. then dpkg-buildpackage -b to create a package from the source
undesktopwhere bla is postinst, preinst etc
eitanolsen: I'm going to go and try it now. I'll be back...
undesktoptalexb: I guess you could hack them
olsenEitan: ok, if you need something don't doubt to ask, good luck
P_KableHow to make deb from KDE svn sources ???
undesktopwow 12000 files in /var/lib/dpkg/info definitely fun
markybobP_Kable, you dont.
undesktopP_Kable: better not
P_Kable:(
talexbmarkybob, I'd love to download the source, but aptitude is currently bunged up with all the updates that didn't happen beacuse of frickin' kdebluetooth.
Rusty1talexb: try apt-get clean
markybobheh
Rusty1then apt-get --purge remove kdebluetooth
markybobtalexb, what error are you getting? sorry i didnt see your problem earlier
talexbRusty1, OK .. that came back .. should I try purging kdebluetooth again?
Rusty1talexb: yup
talexbmarkyboob, Thanks for helping out .. having problems with kdeblutetooth post install script.
markybobtalexb, right, but what does the error message *say*? saying there's a problem really doesnt help me help you any
talexbRusty1, good idea, but still getting an error from kdebluetooth.
The script doesn't have an exit 2 either ..
markybobwhat error?
Rusty1talexb: hmm, just for grins, try apt-get -f install
antum1Hi, I can't find anybody talking on the Bind forums, just wondering if someone here knows a little about Bind?
talexbdpkg-divert: mismatch on divert-to / when removing `diversion of /usr/bin/kdesktop-lock to /usr/bin/kdesktop_lock_nobt by kdebluetooth'
markybobantum1, try #bind
