JohnGHantum1: After midnight... gonna let it all hang out :)
o/~
is there a particular reason you're banging your head on postfix+courier ?
antum1JohnGH its 12:12am over here, I think I'm going to go insane...
JohnGH just because of the tutorials... does postfix work with anything else?
b52laptophi i apply changes on the network confugurations using etherconf , but they are not considered !!
dondelelcaroantum1: postfix works just fine with dovecot
JohnGHwhy do you want to use postfix? - from what I've seen in MTA bake-offs it's not all dat
dondelelcaroantum1: as it does with any other pop/imap
JohnGHI wish I could find the page comparing MTAs :|
antum1so what should I type to remove courier and install something else?
I'm going to stick with postfix at the moment because it is working... and I'm happy about that
dondelelcaroantum1: apt-get remove courier dovecot+; or similar.
HardDisk_WPhi all
I run debian sarge.
argh, debian etch.
dondelelcaro(or dovecot-imapd dovecot-pop3d)
HardDisk_WPhow do I tell the sources.list it should use the Sarge source for webmin and its dependencies?
dondelelcaroHardDisk_WP: just list sarge as well as etch in your sources.list, and it will use sarge if possible.
scxhow can I alias a bot response? ie: alias <well done> to <good bot>
dondelelcarodpkg: well done is <reply> see good bot
dpkgdondelelcaro: thanks
dondelelcaroscx: well done is already something
and good bot is a command
(an internal one at that)
scxdondelelcaro: it's an example
dondelelcarowell, what I did is the cannonical way to do it
scxok, ok thanks: /me see that
JohnGHThis is an OK one - but it's subjective - doesn't do a detailed feature list? http://shearer.org/MTA_Comparison
scxthat bot amazes me
user1234can someone reach http://80.61.67.150
cbyes
xampp
dondelelcarothere's really very few features that normal users would want that the three major MTAs included in Debian havae.
HardDisk_WPuser1234, yes, a XAMPP
dondelelcaros/havae/don't have/
user1234HardDisk_WP, thnx!!
dondelelcaroand frankly, nowadays you should just pick the MTA that you're most comfortable with; they're all fairly similar.
JohnGHuser1234: What OS are you using?
user1234JohnDoh, debian
