| HardDisk_WP | simonrvn, eh, only file systems can be mounted |
| ithium | xingu: ok. I've been and done so many different tests and all that I've gotten totally lost in what is going on with it :P i also have about a gazillion webpages open on grub, none of which help me much... so yeah, test away :o) |
| crazy_penguin | Good night to all! |
| simonrvn | HardDisk_WP: no fs on it? like fat32 or something? |
| adioe3 | Is there a version of pootle which works with debian sarge? |
| HardDisk_WP | simonrvn, no |
| simonrvn | that sucks |
| amphi | what on earth is 'pootle'? |
| xingu | ithium: what "dd" line did you use to build your image? |
| HardDisk_WP | simonrvn, it makes directly /dev/video1 |
| hark | defcon8: kdm and /etc/X11/default-display-manager or dpkg-reconfigure gdm |
| defcon8 | thanks |
| abrotman | Netbot45: STOP |
| simonrvn | would some op be kind enough to remove the bot, Netbot45, please? |
| abrotman | haven't seen any ops in a while :) |
| ithium | xingu: I'm currently using LVM, but I have also tried with dd... the line used for that was... |
| HardDisk_WP | !op netbot45 quit/join flood |
| dpkg | spamming the channel #debian |
| abrotman | hehe |
| simonrvn | ops is the command |
| HardDisk_WP | !ops netbot45 quit/join flood |
| dpkg | Hydroxide, bob2, caphuso, dondelelcaro, doogie, eeyore-, ElectricElf, ):, helix, ljlane, LoRez, RichiH, mentor, Netsnipe, TML, walters, xk, gravity, azeem, Maulkin, stew, peterS, Alife, Myon, Ganneff, Maulkin, weasel: harddisk_wp complains about: netbot45 quit/join flood |
| simonrvn | :) |
| abrotman | not really a flood |
| slipttees | hi |
| ithium | xingu: for a sparse file, /bin/dd if=/dev/zero of=$disk bs=516096c count=0 seek=$cyl |
| simonrvn | more like annoying |
| HardDisk_WP | abrotman, in last 5 min, 12 quit/join. that is a flood IMHO |
| xingu | ithium: hmm; and the goal is a 15G image file? |
| simonrvn | a slow one =) |
|
|
| slipttees | the debian it was blockin the xdmcp transfer, I would advice to ask about? |
| westside | so I'm on my second attempt to upgrade my kernel from 2.6.8 to 2.6.18 and keep hitting the same problem. I answer No to remove existing kernel and then get an error abount 2.6.8 depending on initrd tools which then the upgrade fails. anyone run into this? |
| ithium | xingu: yes; i believe that should be 29070 cylinders |
| HardDisk_WP | abrotman, but do you know anything how to access the /dev/video1 device? |
| abrotman | HardDisk_WP: webcams suck .. IMHO :) |
| xingu | ithium: I think we might have found your problem, but let me test first. |
| karsten | HardDisk_WP: You can ignore quits/joins. I do. |
| HardDisk_WP | abrotman, *g*. well, cat /dev/video1 gives me a flood of ASCII characters |
| simonrvn | usually you just have some app accessing the video device |
| HardDisk_WP | which one is the best? |
