| loko | tommy whenever i make a partition it auto appears under the /dev/mappers/sil_aeaiagcdeicc as a sil_aeaiagcdeiccp1 |
| Chago | tommy...yes you are right...I have that file....what do you suggest |
| limpc | hmm the installer has bugs. |
| Chago | ??? |
| limpc | it crashed when i tried to do a custom installation told it to 'customize now' and the installer popped up saying a fatal error occured.. console showed an error in resolving mirrors.centos.org (or somesuch) lame. |
| donavan | what did you boot off of limpc ? |
| limpc | cd |
| donavan | the windows cd? |
| limpc | .. windows cd? wtf? :P |
| tommy | simply yum install mplayer should work now Chago, else I dunno but it'll usually get there eventually might take a while to fetch the headers (depending on you connection, tides etc.) |
| limpc | sigh. same thing again.. went through the same process and got the same results :( |
| Chago | ahhhh...yes it's working...I appreciate your help...:D |
| limpc | ill try it without customizing i guess.. ugh. |
| donavan | limpc: what did you boot with? |
| limpc | the centos cd of course what else would i boot with? |
| donavan | there are likely 20 centos cds you could boot with... which .iso did you burn to boot with? |
| limpc | not really.. im not really grasping the question here |
| ivazquez | The C5 i386 CD? |
| loko | I booted with "linux nodmraid" and it doesnt do the volume shit... |
| limpc | oh the platform yeah, c5 i386 |
| donavan | you could be using c5 i386 iso 1, c5 i386 dvd, c5 boot.iso i386, same for x86_64 = 6 c4.44 same 6 options s/4.44/4.4/ c4.5 same 6 options |
| ivazquez | CD 1 of the C5 i386 set? |
| limpc | donovan - actually you could have simply asked which version and platform |
| donavan | 18 ~= 20 |
| limpc | instead of "which cd"? which would probably send anyone into a loop ivazquez - you can boot off of cd 2-6? |
| donavan | limpc: did you click the extra's repo option in the installer? |
| limpc | yes |
| donavan | don't as you likely don't have a network setup when booting off iso 1 |
