Zathrussed
awk
zeemanexample: "blablabla 192 blablabla". regexp: [0-9]{1,3}. it should only output 192
Zathrusperl, python, or numerous others.
zeemansed or awk, what's fit better?
it's only a very little script
won't blow it up too much
Zathrusprobably awk.
and note that this is a question better suited to ##linux
evil_steveare the numbers always the second variable?
or ##reg_exp_ate_my_sanity
zeemani want to extrat an ip from a long string
there is only on ip in this string
Zathrusevil_steve: regexps are your friend.
zeemanthe regexp isn't the problem... my problem is to choose the right program ;)
evil_steveZathrus: I'm not saying they're not. I'm just saying they ate my sanity
Zathrusyour sanity was weak!
and is better replaced with a regexp anyway :)
