| marcster | hi. it has almost been two days, and i am still struggling to compile cyrus-sasl with ldap support on centos 3.8. the error message i am receiving is here: http://pastebin.ca/488861 . could someone please tell me what i am missing? |
| evil_steve | apart from an updated version of centos? |
| marcster | yes, apart from an updated version |
| evil_steve | your cpp and your LD flags appear to be set wrong. I don't know what they should be, but I'd look at that first |
| marcster | evil_steve : odd thing is, this error message only appears on 2.1.15 but not on 2.1.22 |
| vimalg2 | help oops. wrong room |

| kikinovak | Hi. I'm a new CentOS user, and I'm currently busy RTFM, especially 'managing software with yum'. The guide claims to be explicitly written for CentOS 4. Q: are there any differences for CentOS 5, and if so, are they documented somewhere? |
| Arrfab | Morning .. |
| kikinovak | Morning... I just asked a question maybe 1 min before you joined... could I politely repeat it? Here goes: Hi. I'm a new CentOS user, and I'm currently busy RTFM, especially 'managing software with yum'. The guide claims to be explicitly written for CentOS 4. Q: are there any differences for CentOS 5, and if so, are they documented somewhere? |

| dtgorm | anyone know what wireless network card will work with either centos4 or centos5 'out of the box' ?? |
| evil_steve | kikinovak: not many differences |
| dtgorm | im having a heall of a time with my WMP54G w/ Ralink 2500 chipset |
| evil_steve | if any |
| action | dtgorm wonders... does eveil_steve ever sleep |
| dtgorm | wonders... does eveil_steve ever sleep |
| evil_steve | DTGorm: No, managing my World Domination franchise keeps me going all day and night I powernap when I get the chance |
| kikinovak | DTGorm I have rt2500 on most of my machines. I'm currently running Debian Etch on all of them, and I'm migrating to CentOS 5. I'll tell you soon. DTGorm but the rt2500 is usually hassle-free on Linux. I configured it on Slackware, Debian and other distros. Take a look at rt2x00.serialmonkey.com. |
| Arrfab | kikinovak: the yum online doc for 5 is the same as for 4 : http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/yum/ |
| dtgorm | tks kinovak... i have tried teh serialmonkey driver and i think after doing that, it shows up in my hardware under network, but hell if i can figure out to use it.. so i tried ndiswrapper and my card is still not light up |
| Arrfab | kikinovak: but new plugins are available in the extras repo for 5 |
| kikinovak | Arrfab well, there are some corrections to be made, because on the link you gave me, it states it's "for CentOS 4". DTGorm dunno... I only ever configure Linux using commandline tools (ifconfig, iwconfig, vi, ...) |
| Arrfab | kikinovak: that's why i told you that docs are identical :) |
| kikinovak | LOL |
| dtgorm | kikinovak: ya, thats the way im doing it. |
| kikinovak | Arrfab where's the main communication channel for CentOS? Mailing lists? Forums? |
