| dtgorm | almost a 15 second dealy every time something on the internet is tried to be reacehd |
| joobie | evil_steve, that only allows you to enable / disable FTP users it still adheres to the shell |
| dtgorm | im also getting packet loss during a ping, so maybe something wrong with networking on this module? |
| joobie | evil_steve, FYI cp /sbin/nologin to /sbin/ftplogin chsh user <set users shell to /bin/ftplogin> |
| evil_steve | joobie: sorry, my bad, I thought you wanted to allow only ftp access for a particular account. |
| joobie | this will then allow the user to login to FTP but deny SSH found it in google enjoy |

| Daemoen | hey guys. |
| dtgorm | hmm, i think if found it.. by default, my network settings were set for dns search path as localdomain damn.. nope.. my card is having a hard time with my static ip settings the same static ip settings that were previously there.. so i set to dhcp and internet connections are fine.. set static.. with IP:192.168.0.20 Sub:255.255.255.0 GW:192.168.0.1 and it doesnt work right |
| evil_steve | DTGorm: is 192.168.0.20 in the /etc/hosts file? the machine will search /etc/hosts, then /etc/resolv.conf to check a domain name |
| dtgorm | no, i have 127.0.0.1 ... is that what the probelm is? |
| evil_steve | well, host/domainname |
| dtgorm | i had it this way before with centos4 and never had these isseus eveil_steve:i guess im not understanding what im missing. with static ip set, it takes longer when restarting network to bring up interface eth0 |
| anonobomber | does anyone have any recommendations for an ip kvm switch that has a client that is compatable with linux systems? |
| lancelan | anonobomber, most should be vnc ?? anonobomber, we have use of a blackbox superswitch EC that seems quite handy |
| sartan | hey, what's cento's "package name" for the kernel source. seems to be different with each major distribution tree these days. is it just kernel-devel or will that give me headers only ? |
