evil_stevesargeantd: it's everybody joining to look for torrent announcements
n5red-4And your point is?
[MjS]So are there 5.0 torrents available yet? :)
sargeantdEvil_steve: I figured. Still amusing to watch.
evil_steveoh yeah
almost as funny as the FC6 release killing their servers and their mirror network from the load
it apparently even took the Orbital Brain laser array down
[MjS]What about SkyNet?
evil_steveadam1: you will need to install the Centos Plus kernel from the centosplus repo
then reboot the box
sargeantdIt's like people watching at the mall or festival.
Only a lot more text.
evil_steve[MjS]: that stayed up, but no one could tell how well it fared due to the encryption layer around the flux capacitors
[MjS]Oh I dunno, people have a lot of text written on their backsides anymore.....
evil_steve[MjS]: I really don't want to know how you know this, but I think these conversations should move to -social
sargeantdEvil_steve: To make more room for joins/leaves?
evil_steveyes
AmidamaruLOLOLOL OWNED!
evil_steveoh go on, orc_orc, you know you want to
DivineHawkhmm, how about bittorrent? that's a helluva mirror network ;-)
so_the mirror network is going to run bittorrent
but also yum installs and such are going to come from the network as well
evil_steveso_: my guess is they will probably seed off the mirrors to start with
so_Evil_steve, I believe I said that :)
ti-grrrwhy am i so anxious for the release of centos 5?
evil_steveso, yeah, I read back up. side effect of having 3 screens and two eyes
misc--how can I install CentOS on to a PC that can't detect sata drives? Is there a way to modprobe the driver or something similar, before it attempts to install?
adam1Evil_steve can you please PM me details for reiserfs support
orc_orcmisc--: potentially you can use a driver disk if one is issued by your hardware controller vendor -- alternatively, the latest centos spin, 4.4 is pretty good in its coverage; to my mind, the best alternatve is to just use suppported hardware of course
Evil_steve: not at all -- just getting ready if the driveby returned
so_who this guy? [Amidamaru] (n=Rothus25@82-39-228-5.cable.ubr07.newy.blueyonder.co.uk) : Michael Obrien
orc_orcso_: scarcely matters
misc--orc_orc: yeah, ok then. We are using 4.4 anyway. I will check to see if the motherboard comes with any linux drivers. If not, then aside from purchasing new hardware, I basically would have to modprobe the correct driver before install right?
orc_orcif you meant who is, of you meant who, this, yes
misc--: possibly if it is a PCI sig unknown to hwdata -- if the driver is wholly absend a ;DD; is needed
misc--a ;DD; ? I don't know what hwdata is but I'll read up on it anyway.
ohh I see, PCI ids. OK
orc_orcDD == driver disk, in installation guide nomenclature
http://www.centos.org/docs/4/
misc--ok thanks! Think I got enough information to continue on now.
