| Zathrus | I have it's either the MB or the CPU |
| range | Yes, but it stops beeping. You didn't ask for booting. |
| mbn_18 | just beep ? |
| rado_ | yep prolly cpu what cpu? |
| Zathrus | I have replacements for neither, and don't wish to spend the money to replace either. Athlon64 754 pin 3000+ IIRC |
| rado_ | 754 is the pits...I am still runnin 1...939 is great tho |
| mbn_18 | might be dust or bad vga card |
| Zathrus | mbn_18: depends; with two sticks of memory in it gives a long continuous beep indicating memory failure; with only one stick in (which should be supported) it gives a single long beep, which seems to indicate a different memory failure. |
| mbn_18 | and with no mem ? i would pull all cards / mem. blow air and return it back |
| rado_ | ummm you might want to consider just looking at tigerdirect's 939/amd/machspeed bundles...pretty cheep |
| Zathrus | mbn_18: don't think I even tried that... I did pull all cards and blow extensively. Dust is not the issue. |
| rado_ | like maybe 125.00 |
| Zathrus | (including pulling the video and booting w/o it) |
| range | Okay. Stop right now -> #centos-social ... |
| Zathrus | yes. |
| quiet | if i'm using compiz, how do i change the window border decoration? I must be missing something obvious, here. |
| rado_ | bye u guys |
| mbn_18 | ohh well, then your out of luck |
| Pikshik6425 | do anyone use nfs4 + krb auth? can not mount shared folder :-) |
| pdt | anybody tried installing c5 on a Dell gx520, c4.4 works fine but 5 doesn't see any drives, any ideas? |
| lemsx1 | pdt: do you mean "drivers" ? |
| pdt | drives hard drives to install on |
| lemsx1 | pdt: now that's weird... i'm not sure how c5 init's the IDE/ATA bus... is that PC using SATA? |
| pdt | yes |
| lemsx1 | pdt: i'd say drop to a terminal and see if you can actually see the disk... perhaps boot in "rescue" mode ? |
| pdt | if I go to the terminal durring install there is no /dev/hda or /dev/sda i would assume this is the fault of the merged ata/sata driver thats in the kernel now, just wondering if anybody knows of a workaround |
| lemsx1 | pdt: hold on. i had to do the same thing for Ubuntu on my PC pdt: can't find it now but it was something like turn off libata |
| eric80906 | anyone get a Centos 5 GFS cluster working?? |
| Mikaku | eric80906: I read a network power switch is needed/recommended and I dont have such device :( |
| pdt | power switch? |
| eric80906 | Mikaku: I have an APC, but I am using the fence_manual for initial testing. I could get everything to work with version 4 |
| StevenR | how do I make system-config-printer not break my ppd file when I import it? It overwrites important bits with broken changes. How do I make it not do this. It even overwrites it when I copy over the ppd manually, and then start system-config-printer. |
