|lang72||uptime have limited value on OSes that needs a reboot for kernel upgrades. Cluster uptime with transparent failover to other nodes from a user perspective can get high uptimes in a sweet way|
Old school VMS clusters with uptime of 5-10 years or more with upgrades and patches included without causing down time
Getting more normal in the *nix world. A nice time to be sysadmin
|rado__||Evolution, are you still here?|
donavan, are you here?
|so_||rado__, I believe Evolution is mainlining some beer somewhere|
...and kinda bedtime too
you on the team, so?
|so_||only the qa team|
not that I've done much qa, just some minor stuff, discussion about what needs to be done for qa has been modest at best
|rado__||I hear ya...|
wait a min....what's "qa"?
that's that ole windows database thang?
|rado__||oh....here at centos?|
|rado__||ya...gotta say, you doin a good job...gotta love centos|
|so_||most of the qa is still being done by the developers, although a couple more people are testing various things now|
well, gotta hop to another box...work on asterisk
you have a good nite k
|PyRo-||Hey can someone help me update my php and mysql to 5.x?|
|so_||PyRo-, have a look in the centosplus repository they are both in there|
|PyRo-||so_: yeah man I've been trying to work with the centosplus repo, but nothing seems to be working|
"Could not find update match for mysql" is the response I get from 'yum update mysql'
I've added "enabled=1" under the [centosplus] section of CentOS-Base.repo as instructed
|so_||isn't mysql spelled something like MySQL?|
|PyRo-||technically yeah but everything i've read has all packages in lowercase|
|so_||actually, checked, no :)|
|PyRo-||I just tried that anyways, doesn't work|
|so_||if protectbase is on then the base packages installed from base and updates will stop you from updating from centosplus|
one way to get around that is to remove the mysql packages and install (if I remember correctly, someone may correct me)
|PyRo-||hmm i don't think this system is using protectbase|
