Hobbes`centos 5 does work under qemu ?
doesn't* rather
falmprunning yum update after centos5 is released won't update me from centos4.4 to centos5, right?
yello?
Hobbes`it's been silent for about an hour falmp
falmpoh, ok Hobbes` :)
orkidis anyone running 5?
Hobbes`i'd assume the answer to your question is "no" .. since I was told there are no guarantees that you can upgrade from 5-beta to 5
orkidrhel? or the beta for centos?
Hobbes`orkid have it running under qemu right now
the xen kernel doesn't boot up under qemu .. the regular one starts up fine
ddnhi all
what squid version will centos 5 have?
Hobbes`ddn 2.6.STABLE4-2.el5
Jesse408uh
Hobbes`??
ddnwell will beat centos 4 squid version
Jesse408yeah
beat it like a byatch
xerophytei have compiled rpm kernel from vanila source code from kernel.org using this howto http://www.howtoforge.com/kernel_compilation_centos it works, but i have intel dual core wood crest cpu .. it should give me 4 logical cpu .. its only gives 2 how can i compile the kernel to support 4 logical cpu
Hobbes`isn't a dual core just 2 cores ?
olinux3
Jesse408haha
Hobbes`buy two get one free ?
olinuxxerophyte, how do you know you only have 2?
xerophyteolinux, you mean how do i know only 2 cpu on the server .. i did cat /proc/cpuinfo .. it should give me 4 logical cpu but only 2 of them are there
olinuxok, i thought my dual core wasnt correct, but it was just not appearing in top as i expected
there's some toggle to switch between combined view and individual view of each proc
anyway i dont understand why dual core should mean 4
CCFreak2K|CollegDual-core is two cores in one package.
As far as the operating system is concerned, it's two CPUs.
Hobbes`I think i'll go with olinux answer of "3". Thank you! :-p
xerophyteolinux, if you enable the HT with it you should get 4 logical cpu
Jesse408ht? que que que?
ht will not get you 4 logical cpu's
xerophyteJesse408, what does give you 4 logical cpus
FarrisGAny help figuring out why mounting a share from a Windows 2003 box via fstab using smbfs or cifs is so slow?
olinuxFarrisG any info in dmesg or logs?
FarrisGNothing
If I use smbfs, I get "entering daemon mode for server \\host\share"
