DocHollidayhow can i disable selinux in centos (completely)?
drbair_laptop/etc/sysconfig/selinux
rhicanz00dax_fosdem, heard/saw you speak earlier today, never heard of centos before .. might have to try it now
alleycatJeeva: comment mirrorlist, add baseurul=/path/to/repo
baseurl
Jeeva: but keep in mind that mirrorlist tries to resolve to a mirror close to you
it has a geographical algorithm implemented
DocHolliday: edit /etc/sysconfig/selinux
DocHolliday: or add selinux=0 to the kernel line in grub
DocHollidayalleycat, yeah just got it :)
AlphaDOGhow can i know on CentOS if my memory is on Dual Channel mode?
DocHollidaythank you!
alleycatalleycat: maybe dmidecode could tell you, but I think that only BIOS knows that
Jeevaalleycat: path/to/repo being ?
ftp.is.co.za ?
or which format ?
alleycatftp://ftp.is.co.za/path/to/repofiles
Jeevaok ta
ftp://ftp.is.co.za/mirror/centos/
alleycatfor [BASE} upuftp://ftp.is.co.za/mirror/centos/4/os/i386
sorry
for [BASE} you will need smtg similar to ftp://ftp.is.co.za/mirror/centos/4/os/i386
and similar paths to updates and the rest of the repositories
Jeevabaseurl=ftp://ftp.is.co.za/mirror/centos/$releasever/os/$basearch/
thats how i made it
AlphaDOGdmidecode dont tell me
so_AlphaDOG, can't get into your bios or run memtest? this is really a hardware thing, not a software one
AlphaDOGso_ i cant reboot my box
so_someone mentioned you can run timing tests with things like hdparm with and without dual channel to see the speed differences
it's really interleaved memory addressing if I understand dual channel correctly and it's handled below the OS level
Jeevaalleycat: i'm trying to install gcc-c++
yum install gcc-c++
gives me errors
alleycatJeeva: use a pastebin to show me the errors, please
Jeevak
argh
wtf is it working now again
nm
btw, must i comment out the mirror line in repo
and uncomment baseurl
