drbair_laptopkernel might not like the hardware... or maybe a bad burn. You might want to try passing some options to disable apm, etc
not_a_ki'm hesitant to add more repositories willy nilly now...
DbugDk - thx will try that
Arrfabzoldar : no ...
peercenot_a_k: so you configured karan.repo, and yum install perl-GD doesnt work?
zoldar:( aren't there any 'unofficial' ISO's with xfs kernel as default? nothing ?
not_a_kpeerce: yep. I'm pretty sure I installed it properly. when I do a "yum list perl*", I see lines like this:perl-Video-DVDRip.i386 0.52.6-2.el4.kb kbs-CentOS-Misc
i'm assuming kbs is from the karan repository
oh damn
It looks like I screwed up. There is the misc repo and the extras repos
yeah. there are my perl modules. thanks for letting me waste your time. =)
AlphaDOGhow can i know on CentOS if my memory is on Dual Channel mode?
so_that's more of a motherboard thing
AlphaDOGyeah but maybe got a way for know that in centos ...
DbugDhehe.. even "linux mediacheck" crashes.. i think my box is a little outdated by now.. ^^
so_AlphaDOG, it's not controlled in the OS at all, the only way to tell that I can think of is the speed of the memory, kind of like what you see in Memtest for instance
NewCastleScotthello all Is ther a way to solve a segmentation fault that I am getting from an install?
sw-NewCastleScott, have you checked your media ?
DocHollidayi am getting a 'temporary failure in name resolution' when trying to use yum
NewCastleScottsw Im trying to compile wine on a 64 bit box.I am very new to linux what do I need to do in order to check my media?
sw-NewCastleScott, don't need to check anything.. found you were getting some issue while installing centos
NewCastleScottahh sory for the lack of discription
sw this is what I get from shell : http://rafb.net/p/ILoNM066.html
alleycatDocHolliday: check your dns settings and the firewall
DocHollidayalleycat, ah yeah it seems to be fixed but yum cant find the package bison-devel
sw-NewCastleScott, i'm afraid but i can't help on compilation and 64 bit arch.. you should check #wine if it exists cause you would only find support for CentOS here
alleycatDocHolliday: there is no bison-devel in centos, AFAIK
DocHollidayalleycat, strange.. asterisk says it wants it :P
alleycatDocHolliday: maybe the rpm was built for another distro
sw-you can find bison on rpmfind.net
DocHollidaycould be!
sw-i once needed it and found it there
alleycatbison-1.875c-2 is in Base
DocHollidaythanks :)
NewCastleScottsw there is a 64bit compilation option but I receve a seg.fault when I try to install it
sw do you know what causes that Im looking on the wine mailing lists now
sw-have no idea.. I barely compile things and i'm on 32 bit arch
NewCastleScottsw thanks
Jeevahow do i change my mirror to the south african one ?
