NewCastleScott; although i've heard of a program called 'winedoors' but thats all i know
MartyoHow do I make a hard drive spin down automatically?
Answer: hdparm + noatime ;)
AlphaDOGany other of then lm_sensors for know the temp if my CPU and MB on CentOS?
loomis_1753I am trying to get Perl::GD::Graph installed. I am having problems just getting GD installed, it's not finding -ljpeg. How do I resolve this?
linuxpoetI have an FC2 machine, I am considering using apt and centos to upgrade it to centos 4.4, thoughts?
hughesjrif you are located with the machine ... downloading the CDs (or DVD) and using "linux upgradeany" would be a much better upgrade
linuxpoetWell of course :)
I am not located at the machine
I was trying to avoid going to the machine, and the subsequent long outage
but if it is a risk, I would rather go to the machine (not knocking cent, but Ubuntu/Debian doesn't have a problem with remote upgrades which is why I asked)
drbair_laptopDebian usually tolarates upgrades better in my experience
hughesjractually ... debian does have problems with upgrades too ... if you upgraded from woody to etch .. for example :P
errmm
or potato to etch, etc.
drbair_laptopusually a +1 goes ok. Not always perfect
hughesjrright
but fc2 to centos4 is a +2.5 :P
linuxpoetI found that debian does fine as long as you are already running 2.6
if you are running stock 2.4, then you are hosed ;)
This is my problem, I don't care if the fc2 machine breaks -- except
hughesjrwhat is your kernel on the fc2 box
linuxpoetWhen it reboots, I must be able to get back into it
it is a 2.6 kernel
If I can get back in, I can fix the problem
hughesjrdoes it use udev
linuxpoetit uses whatever the default for fc2 was
drbair_laptopsounds a little too risky for my liking
linuxpoetyeah I am thinking that
I think I will just do a hands upgrade
it sucks, but it is what it is
hughesjrlinuxpoet: looking at the latest fc2 tree ... some items will be upgraded and some will not (some of the newer items in fc2 are newer than some CentOS items, others are not)
yaeyoHi all I am looking for a firewall hot failover solution. I am going to atempt to do it with CS LVS. Does anyone have any prior experience with such a setup or could point me to some more information? My firewall has 3 network cards, one for Internet, DMZ and LAN. I will add a fourth for heartbeat..Can this be achieved?
linuxpoeterghmm
anyone know when centos 5 is due?
hughesjrthe beta is due any day now ... the final will be w/in a month of the upstream final release
upstream release is scheduled for 15 mar
linuxpoetok I think I will take that route instead
just hang out until 5
